  1. whatever happens, Bedard will be sent to the place that needs him the most to boost revenue….the only reason the habs won the lottery last year is because there was no generational talent in that draft and THE big name, Shane Wright, was sent to Seattle for promotion purposes

  2. lol totaly forgot already that NJ got 2nd pick last year.. And they are already so good without Nemec potentially becoming a solid D piece for them

  3. In order of who I want to see win the lottery it would be: San Jose, Columbus, Anaheim and Philadelphia

  4. Detroit will get screwed like they always do. The NHL isn't concerned about growing the Wings fan base, so they make sure that they don't win it.

  5. That’s incredibly stupid how if you win the lottery you can’t move up to first. If you miss the playoffs everyone should have a chance at first. You shouldn’t reward tanking.

  6. The Blue jackets deserve the number one pick. They haven't ever got one without trading for it and they never had some like mcdavid or mathews or mac or ovi or crosby. the type of player thats the face of the fanchise for a decade. IK that Nash was good but he's not Bedard.

  7. As a Washington fan, if we get the number one pick Bettman was definitely involved. What way to get viewership up in the regular season than by giving Ovi a generational talent to help get him the all time goals record. As well as keeping that market hot. Would also say the same thing if the Yotes end up with the top pick.

  8. Anybody but MTL or Chicago. I’d like to see Arizona or Columbus get 1st. If San Jose got it, wouldn’t mind that either.

  9. Don't forget about Detroit dropping to #4 after being the worst team in the league. Bettman hates Detroit. Every single year Detroit drops. It's rigged

  10. lol Rangers drafting is horrendous that’s why they’ve always been known as a team that doesn’t grow a team from their own system. rag$

  11. As a Sharks fan I am hopefull for the number 2 pick I think Adam would be a better fit with his style and size

  12. Sens #12 is top 5 protected – also Coyotes have never improved draft position but dropped down often

  13. I'm going to call it and say Bettman rigs it so Chicago gets Bedard. Anaheim is small market and Columbus is Arizona East but Chicago is a big money maker if they're actually winning and their current roster is a joke. We all remember the NYR getting the #1 pick in 2020 with a 2.5% chance.

  14. The DRAFT lottery ..PARITY ..where is it?
Time to rebuild the NHL systems they DO NOT WORK.
As witnessed last year having a number 1 pick is still a crap shoot you have to get LUCKY there is an ELITE player when you get the number 1 pick.Gretzky …Lemieux…McKinnon…Crosby there are no guarantees the NHL systems and lottery will eventually get you there. We can even look at the years the Oilers had several first round picks and they kept sucking FINALLY after yet more number 1 picks they get Conor McDavid.

  15. "pretty good draft picks" don't win you cups ELITE picks win you the cup.
Sometimes we get an oddity like Vegas and so far Seattle but imo there is more to those cup winners than just being a longshot…hint officiating CAN and DOES influence games.

  16. NO the system is NOT about deterring tanking it is SUPPOSED to create PARITY and that has NOT been accomplished so the system DOES NOT work and neither does the salary cap as a matter of FACT the CAP does a LOT more damage than it does good.
From a CORE BASIC design the systems are ok they CAN work but they need more "fine print" to actually make the NHL systems work to create parity.
There are at least 5-6 really bad teams not even in the same hemisphere at the top 8 teams so the systems are not only NOT working they are horrible because an ELITE player the one that comes around every so often can't help all 5-6 abysmal teams he can only help ONE.

  17. Detroit takes a screwing every year. Thank heavens for Yzerman and scouting staff finding decent lower picks.

  18. Big market teams always get preferential treatment. The Rangers got the number 1 pick when they made the playoffs 😣

  19. If the Ottawa pick is turns into top 5 it goes back to Ottawa and Arizona gets their 2024 first rounder.
Although that exact scenario worked in nhl 23 for my Arizona rebuild so I got Connor and fantalli LOL What a dream

  20. columbus… just hoping we only move down to third instead of fourth. no way we win the lottery

  21. With them being one of my secondary teams I hope the Yotes win it but I don't want to defend Bettman either. I'm pretty fascinated by any team getting Bedard but I don't want to see the Ducks, Sharks or Canucks win because I don't like them and their rivals to my OIlers, and I don't want Chicago to get it because I feel like their rebuild just started, they need some more pain.
