I’d have been completely okay with *anyone* but the Hawks winning the lottery.
And in classic NHL fashion that’s exactly what happened.
Very glad we didn’t drop any spots though, guaranteeing one of Carlsson, Michkov or Smith is huge.

I know a lot of people are bummed about Chicago winning but for me the worst case scenario was CBJ winning and us having to play the kid 3-4 times a year

I’m more of a looking on the bright side and the thinking the glass is half full kind of guy, but not winning this years lottery will sting for a while. Ya, we have a chance at a really good player, but it’s not the most hyped up prospect since McJesus.
I think it will haunt me like the 2005 lottery, ya we got Price, but we could have had Crosby.

Habs already have Caufield and Slaf at LW, I don’t get all the hype for 5’9” LW Benson.

I don’t think people realize how unlikely it was that we stay at 5th.
