#hockey #nhl #highlights #nhlplayoffs #coloradoavalanche

Yup he’s done. This is good news for other teams in the conference ngl
This sucks man
I had a friend have cartilage problems in his knee. He was on crunches and needed constant surgery for a very long time.
I think it's likely Landeskog has played his last game as an Av. Even if he makes it back, the chances are slim he'll be able to hang again at NHL level. Perhaps it will be a blessing in disguise for Colorado because they'll be able to use that 7 million to retool the team.
as an avs fan, and just a gabe fan, i dont even know what to say tbh. I dont want to say hes gone but I had a bad feeling after he had to get surgery after winning the cup but it really feels like hes just trying not to add anything to the dumpster fire of a season we had this year
He sounded confident in his interview today that he will make a full recovery
From the quote you provided: 70% of athletes who get this surgery return to their pre-injury level of sport. Hopefully Landeskog is in that 70% instead of the 30% like Methot.
As a lifelong Penguins fan, I really hope Landeskog doesn't have a career like Mario's with the injuries and health in general. Sucks for him, and Avs fans.
reminds me of forsbergs problems at the same age
we all love you gabe. glad you got to lift the cup. goal was achieved.
What really happened to Nichuskin?
O' captain, my captain. Wish him all the best and a full recovery. GoAvsGo
Avs should trade Valeri Nichushkin to the Lightning 😉
The swedes in NHL doesn't give up. Landeskog will be back soon better than ever.
Time to hang the skates up
I mean. Would i take an 80% Landy? Sure. I'd rather have a 100% Landy. But at least he got his cup before all this happened
I thought that was Connor Mcdavid in the thumbnail 💀
Landeskog’s prolly gon retire I hate to call it
sad news. at least if his career is over he'll have lifted the cup in his last game, what a finish!
Avs have a debacle on there hands for the offseason.
I mean they are literally at 14 million in cap with 24 free agents.
Then you have nuke situation of the hotel room.
Then you have landeskog health you gotta worry about.
I think bednar was right tho when asked about landy coming back. Who knows if he’s gonna be the same player. The leadership in the room is def gonna be missed.
I would love to have landeskog back but can he return back to elite status.
Let’s say both nuke and landy are gone. The avs then literally have one line. And have to find a whole second line.
It’s gonna be interesting how they navigate this offseason
Avs fan
2nd best captain we've had
I'm gonna be gutted if he's done
But if he is. At least he went out a fucking legend for this club. His last shift is one of the greatest last shifts in hockey.
Blocking a shot in the final seconds of the game that won us the cup.
O'Captain my captain
Well, there are many worst ways to go, like not having a contract in place that gives you and your family millions of dollars for the next several years or not having won the Stanley Cup. He at least got to play until 30 too, which isn't too bad. It sucks for sure, but there are at least many positive points to consider.
Tough mofo
I’m not an avs fan but I love every player in the league and it always sucks to see something like else happen especially to a team’s captain. Hoping and praying that all will be good for him so he can continue to play.
Even if he is in that 70% at the age he is at with a 2 year recovery his return chances are slim to none this is coming from a col fan
Who would want the same team to win again. Literally so boring.
As a long time AVS fan and watched them since I was a kid I hate for this to happen to such a skilled player, with that being said. I think it's time for him to focus on his health and family and retire a champ and not a washed up player. Hockey is a very violent brutal sport and having /needing this kind of surgery doesn't make it easier competing, especially for a championship team like the Colorado Avalanche. He should retire and give his spot to a player that still can compete on high level and no drag his team down waiting and hoping he'll even bee half of the skill level he once was.
I hope he makes a full recovery ❤️🩹 I love Landy ❤
Not having our Captain has been a huge loss, one that most people won't really understand. Landy has been the lifeblood of this team mentally for years, and on top of that he's one of the best wingers in the league, and adds a level of physicality to our team that we sorely miss. I truly hope this surgery will bring him the resolution he is looking for so he can have a good quality of life and come back to play for the team he loves.
I'm a huge leafs fan but more importantly I'm a hockey fan. Never like to see this for any player(except Brad Marchand) jk even him I wouldn't wish this on. Hope he heals well and has at least one more good year just not against the leafs.
If this is how it all ends, I'm glad that Landy at least got to lift the Cup. I will never forget what you've done for this team and I hope the surgery goes well! Love you Captain Gabe❤💙
Gabby should give captency to MacKinnon…
You're a champion. Go take it easy and enjoy life.
What happens to the contracts of the injured players like that? Is he receiving 100%? What are the rules?
Can't see him returning. Wrong side of 30 too by the time he returns.
Afraid to say… but this may been a career ending injury 😢
the avs are my second team and i missed having him on the ice all year. obviously i don’t want to see him retire, especially so young, but at the end of the day his health and quality of life are more important than anything. i hope he’s able to make a full recovery and i’d love to see him back with the team in the near future.
Mack should be captain his career is done
Man. Brutal for Landy.
Man is an absolute legend and a Colorado HoF’er who will get his number retired in the rafters and will be involved in the Leadership, be it in a suit or in a sweater, for as long as he so desires.
If this was the last we’ve seen of him on the ice, hope he can recover enough to skate with his kids and not hurt everyday the rest of his life.
I had an appointment with my orthopedic surgeon yesterday, so I had to ask. He was not optimistic. Fifty-fifty, at best, on getting back to the NHL.
If dedication alone could make the difference, we would see Landy back in 2024-25.
No matter what happens re hockey, I hope he’s able to have a pain-free, active, and long life going forward.
Sad news indeed.
He is not retiring
