Jonesy! I absolutely love the guy. He knows what needs to be done. I think it could be good but I’ll be sad to not hear him on games anymore.

Oh yeah! Promote from inside. Just like Mr. Snyder would do. And did…
No more of this corporate BS!

    Great hire IMO.

We have no idea how spoiled we were listening to JJ & Jonesy play by play commentary over the years. While they’re both hilarious and charismatic as hell, they’re probably the most insightful duo to listen to as far as their hockey wisdom goes and they are usually spot-on regarding every player’s performance throughout a game.

Hearing Jonesy talk about hundreds of players over the years makes me confident he’ll know what to do in his responsibilities to help the Flyers.

People seem to really hate the idea of this… but I really like Jonesy and think it could work well. Having listened to him call games and dissect the game for years and years now, he clearly sees the game well and knows the problems with our roster and “culture” etc.

He knows the game, knows the roster, knows the GM, knows the coaching staff, knows the ownership, knows the fans, and knows the city. And equally important… he is well known and respected across the league.

I think he and Briere and Torts could be a great tripod of hockey minds and I think Jonesy is a great choice to be a liaison between the Flyers and ownership.

to put it into perspective Joe Sakic has the same position. Before that he was an advisor, then VP, then GM. He was successful at all of them. Even got a Stanley Cup as Gm and GM of the year award.

JONES has done nothing front office wise. He is a color commentator and is on the radio morning show. WTF?

He accidentally ripped Dale Weise on live tv and that’s ok with me

Is this even for real? I’m surprised Charlie O’Connor wasn’t the one to break it.

That said, ex-players aren’t always good at management, and Keith is a national treasure in the booth. If this is real, I wish him the best of luck.

I’m just glad it’s not Olczyk
