    It’s been to long ! The Red Wings not in the playoffs just don’t feel right. Keep working hard boys….

    As much as I’d love the Wings to get back to the playoffs, and am happy to see such improvement this season, we are not deep enough of a team to go on a run in the playoffs. We will no doubt be bounced in the first round. As a wild card team we will have to play a top seeded team. I want us to semi-tank the rest of the season simply so we can have a good draft pick in what’s supposed to be the deepest draft in years. Any player in the top 10-15 is projected to be an impact player for whoever drafts them. We still need a couple good young pieces to add to our prospect pool. We are in the toughest spot in the league…heading for the middle where we aren’t good enough to be contenders, but not bad enough to land some higher end prospects. I’m sure Yzerman will figure it out and things will work out..but one more year of sucking could really benefit us in a couple of years and help accelerate us to that contender status

    DMac is one of the smartest guys in hockey. He knows, he’s lived it under the coaching of a hockey genius in Bowman. Likewise, Yzerman and others in the front office know. The left wing lock didn’t happen overnight and when it clicked all the neutral zone trap teams were hosed. It took them a couple seasons to adjust. 53 games into a new system and it’s starting to show. Takes time.

    The Goalie is looking like a tender who gets better just a smidgen as the year goes by and by playoff time – they become very hard to score on.
