This is an especially appropriate meme because in the actual scene from the show she’s trying to teach Joey French and he falls miserably.

But Kansas City needs a shot.

Also could it *be* any more clear Arizona doesn’t want a team?

  2. Empty-Refuse8923

    Too many Canadian teams

  3. Varmitthefrog

    As a Canadian

I am all for more Canadian teams, but am I the only one who thinks its weird Millwauke does not have a team?, I mean Wisconsin are big into hockey Basically have your average canadian winter, it feels like a no brainer.

  4. rattlehead42069

Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, buffalo and Detroit aren’t gonna let that happen

  5. iamhoratiocrunch

Also a bad idea. Do y’all not remember *why* the Nordiques moved originally? The market couldn’t support them. Not enough interest, not enough income, financial troubles out the ass, and so the team folded and relocated to Colorado. Quebec would be the smallest market in the NHL today, same as it was in ’95.

  6. thescrounger

With all the tanking Arizona has done, it will pay off just in time for Quebec to win the cup, causing mass suicides in Toronto and Montreal.

  7. Decoy-Jackal

Okay which team is moving West bozo

  8. willmcmill4

Québec or MILWAUKEE. As a Wild fan, PLEASE I would love the Minnesota wisco rivalry

  9. Canopus429

So assuming they move, are they going to start in a new city as a bottom feeder team or get some help to be competitive? They won’t last anywhere they go if they keep taking on these inflated contracts. Also does any viable location have a stadium that can handle them right away? I know this may be an unpopular opinion but the #1 pick should have gone to Arizona this year just to help sell the team to another city. Might have even kept them in Arizona.

  10. Playful-Role-3669

As much as I want a team in Quebec again, Buttman has at least 4 US cities that will get a team first. KC, Houston, Milwaukee, Atlanta (again FFS), etc.

  11. LooseEndsMkMyAssItch

No, move to Milwaukee where there is an arena ready to go with the Bucks there. A tv market to immediately join and a hockey rich community. Quebec City is a decent choice, ticket sales wise, but tv viewership maybe not.

  12. TheSensation19

I think the best move for Arizona would be to move to Houston.

Largest media market that has no hockey team. It use to have an IHL and AHL team and they can bring that back – Houston Aeros. Or they could stay as the Yotes for all I care but I would change it.

  13. jackluke

I read « batman » in the title and was very fucking confused

  14. toturoll

can we stop with this quebec city thing? they’re not going to move to the east. it’s houston or kansas city.

  15. DukeSpaghetti

So we can have another Canadian team not win the cup?

  16. SaltChildhood7

Quebec City is a real place? Huh. Maybe a farm team or something, but the NHL’s future is only to grow in the US.

  17. EnvironmentalHorse13

Start by saying I like Canadian teams and i think there should be more. That being said from a business perspective why would you leave a giant market of new customers with growth potential for a market that is much smaller and would have to compete with Montreal?

  18. goos__

its possibly because he doesn’t want to do a division realignment

  19. manbeqrpig

Bettman: “Best I can do is Atlanta or Houston”

  20. Clunt-Baby

The Quebec market is too small. They wouldn’t make any money. They aren’t making any money rn, so they should probably move to Houston

  21. divey043

This team is moving to Houston full stop. Quebec is a no-go on realignment issues plus there is far more money to be made in Houston.

I’d love a team to be back in Quebec City but it feels like Houston is the far more likely option

  22. AceConspirator

“Move to Quebec,” say all the fans who ignore history.

  23. avet22

No player ever said ‘I want to play in Quebec City !!

  24. DrSeuss19

I don’t want them in Quebec. I hope they go to Houston or KC

  25. unexceptablelydumb

Houston Texas is the answer. Texans seem to love their hockey. A Dallas/Houston rivalry would only help the cause. Meanwhile keeping the east and west even as far as teams go.

  26. nathaniel29903

You miss spelled salt lake city ut

  27. HeroDandy

I am a simple man, I see Joey I upvote!

  28. TappedFrame88

Ok but why? Does everyone want the Nordiques to be a terrible hockey team on the ice? Because moving the Yotes and their ownership to Quebec will only make that Quebec team as good as the current Yotes (that is to say, not good at all).

  29. jcommeau91

Why go from one place that failed to another place that failed?

  30. xenonwarrior666

How does it make sense to move a Western Conference Team to the East?

It means forcing an Eastern Team to the West

Makes more sense to just find a Western city to put it in.

Hopefully the League expands or Florida floats off into the sea and an Eastern team can move to Quebec.

  31. havenothingtodo1

This will never happen because Bettman is completely braindead

  32. new00000003

Nah move them slightly north to SLC

  33. LivingLifeSomewhere

Wont happen. Itll be an american location.

  34. Mug-Moment

They’re not going to do this. Cause then the central is down a team and it forces a metro team to move. They won’t do this because of the time difference.

  35. witwar101

Gary bettman when an nhl franchise is in financial trouble: relocate

Gary bettman when Arizona is in financial trouble: double down, triple down, quadruple down

  36. Fogdevil_s

Some fans. More intelligent ones realize it’s not coming to Quebec lol. Like I’m not sure what else Gary has to do to make this any more clear

  37. jaynovahawk07

I thought I read somewhere that the league would prefer for the club to remain somewhere centrally located, if not in the west.

Quebec City doesn’t sound like a possibility if that is what the league is looking for.

If that’s a bunch of BS, though, I’d definitely be all for Quebec City getting an NHL club.

  38. passamongimpure

There’s no bus to Quebec City.
