As a habs and oilers fan I hated perry when he signed in mtl and did everything in my power to continue hating him when he started playing for them but I quickly began to love having him on the team and was pretty sad to see him leave. Not something I ever thought I’d hear myself say
I have a funny feeling that he will return to the Habs because he really didn't want to leave Montreal. Either way, I agree that he definitely still has a lot of value as a 3rd or 4th line veteran grinder. The Habs have a bunch a young players and Perry could teach them a ton of his lil tricks.
It’s a cute story but, he loves living in Tampa Bay. He lives on the ocean & loves water-sports. He’s signing with TB for one more season with Stamkos & the gang. It’s the last Run at a Cup before a rebuild is necessary.
He also broke EDM's back in 16/17, with the 2OT winner in G5, in which ANA came back from 3-0 in the final 3 minutes of the game. Perry scored that OT winner as well.

There are a couple of players in the nhl which are like a mercenary but absolutly underrated. Brandon Saad, Corey Perry (i hate him), Mark Stone, Max Pacioretty, Pat Maroon. And in every team they perform kinda good.
