Yet another banger. Incredible job
I love this group we got here! Good luck in the playoffs next year boys!!!
God I love all these guys, and it's great to see everyone loving one another. More than anything, after Eichel left, and his bad attitude left with him, we became the luckiest team in the league, when we acquired Alex Tuch. Between Kevin Adams, Don Granatto, and Tuchy, along with the leadership of Okie and Gus, the culture of the Buffalo Sabres has to be noted as the singular most important, and positive change to the franchise.
The pieces were there, but when Alex Touch arrived, you could see that positive team culture begin to solidify. With a group of very young, talented, players lacking a ton of experience in the NHL. The coaching staff did a great job by arming them with the freedom to express themselves as individuals, the freedom to fail, and the patience to learn and grow bc of it. This freedom made the guys more comfortable, which lead to more confidence among all the guys, and inevitably a winning hockey team.
This focus on creating a great team culture was fundamental to getting the Sabres back on the right track. And personally I think it all came together the way it did so quickly and beautifully last season was bc of our home town hero, Alex Tuch. His prowess and skill on the ice is obvious and you only need to look at his stat sheet for that. But also his professionalism off the ice, coming back to his community, and embracing it like he never left. But the intangible thing you won't find on a stat sheet, or a visit to Oshi Children's Hospital, is his positive attitude, uplifting spirit, his infectious smile, his big goalie jumpong hugs after a win, his viral sensational "WOOOOOO's", and many more we, as fans, don't get to see behind the scenes.
I think we owe Alex Tuch an unplayable debt for solidifying this teams winning culture, that will hopefully help the Sabres keep up this great trajectory that their on.
So as a lifelong Buffalo native, and Sabres fan, I can't wait for what the future has in store for us as fans, and the league mobing forward. So thanks Tuchy, I think I can speak for most if not all Sabres fans by just saying thank you for being a great player. Thank you for being a great human being. And most of all, thank you for your great positive attitude.
Thank you for being my favorite Buffalo Sabre!
