Do they keep his NHL rights?

  2. Miruzzz

So we wasted Lockwood for nothing?

  3. bendover456

Thats too bad. He showed flashes of skill with us but never enough to really warrant a spot higher in the lineup. I wanted to see him get a more extensive look this year but he probably looked at the depth chart and realized he was the 8th or 9th best winger and figured he wouldnt get a shot to play in the top-6 for quite a while

A Russian with tons of skill not being able to be crack it in the NHL (first time around at least). Low risk gamble and Canucks still hold his rights.

  5. The_Forsaken_Viola

    Oh no

    Anyways, cap space

  6. SackofLlamas

Shame it didn’t work out, but much like the Goldobin and Dahlen gambles they were good deals and good process. Kravtsov was given ample opportunity to show his stuff, and his stuff amounted to a big old pile of nothing. Shockingly low intensity player. There’s some skill and size there but without a motor and the will to use it, it will never amount to anything.

He probably would have ended up on waivers at the start of the year. This way he can go home try to grow his game and maybe come back a legit player for us. If we qualify him and retain his rights.

Was worth a shot. Guy doesn’t have the heart to be a regular

  9. 21marvel1

It happens. Good for him for securing another deal. We’ll see him the Canucks qualify him to keep his rights, but at this point idk, I doubt it

Will Lockwood traded for nothing 😞😢😭

  11. JTMilleriswortha1st

oh well the trade was still worth it 🤷🏻‍♂️

  12. Young2k04

No regrets on the trade, it was well worth the shot and we barely gave up anything. He sucked, but we also didn’t really have much of a spot for him anyways. Maybe he does well in the KHL and makes a comeback

  13. Bubbiesacat

I guess we needed a Tryamkin 2.0 to talk about (if we qualify him to keep his rights of course)

  14. Ahnarcho

Little under a mill of cap space back we can use for something else

    🤷‍♂️

  15. TheOdiin

but buut he was a former top 10 pick!!

  16. brodiefilm

Correct me if I’m wrong: the Canucks can qualify him, but since he’s already signed a KHL deal there’s no risk of him accepting it, the team shaves ~900k off the cap while he spends 2 years developing his game. If he never comes back, that’s fine, and if he turns into the 9th OA pick everyone projected and wants to return to the NHL, the Canucks have his rights and that’s a win. Right?

  17. Wazzy8

We gave him a shot and he didn’t work out so I’m more than fine with this. We also get some cap freed up which is a great thing.

  18. NotoriousBananaHavoc

If Jim was around he wouldve gotten 8×8 thank god now both are gone because Kravstov wasnt worth it and Lockwood seems like a AHL calibre or Europe player so a wash of a trade

  19. GangreneMachine

There was just not much there at the end of the day.
