  1. Have the Hurricanes forgotten how to win in the ECF?! I can't believe they've been swept in their last 3 appearances.

  2. I honestly saw this coming! If you have kept up with this team all season long offense and power play have been incredibly weak. I knew it was only a matter of time until our luck ran out. There was like a 10 game streak in the regular season where the only players that scored goals was our Blue line defenseman. It was fun to watch and it won us some games, but with that if your star players aren't showing up and putting pucks in the back of the net Aho,Necas, Jarvis etc that isn't a recipe for a Stanley Cup. Those guys I named were an absolute no show in the Florida series and that was the nail in the coffin. Got to get our offensive woes and PP inconsistency figured out during the off season. Better luck next season

  3. As a canes fan, most annoying part of this series than any of the past series and regular season was the penaltys. My god it seemed like the refs were antsing to call anything against us. Idk. Might just be my bias talking but thats what i noticed a lot.

  4. It's just so unreal the way Florida scores the clutch goals. I will say, after Carolina tied the game late, I wasn't that worried. Not being cocky, but Florida has come back in clutch ways previously…..

  5. I was at game 4 of the 1996 SCF when the Panthers lost in OT. I was 13 years old… I have been waiting for this moment for the last 27 years!!! We are not REALLY an 8th seed … we won President's Trophy and, much like the 2019 Lightning, had to change our style of play. We faced so much adversity this year… but my belief in this team never wavered, even if my faith in Paul Maurice and Bill Zito did. I got into hockey because of the Panthers, and could have made the CHL (cape breton) as a D-man but my parents wouldn't let me go up there to play. I feel like that 13 year old boy all over again!!!!

  6. It is unreal to me, Panthers barely made it to the playoffs. Go 7 against Boston, Beat the Leafs and destroy Carolina. They just seem unbeatable to me

  7. I don't believe in curses either, but I liked teams not touching the conference trophy. It gives the impression that the team hasn't hit their goal yet. They are focusing on winning it all. Unlike baseball, that spray champagne when a team makes the playoffs, wins the play in game, wins the division series, wins the league series, and then the World Series.

  8. The Sam Reinhart/Jack Eichel Bowl. Whoever has the better series wins the cup imo.

  9. I never believed in the PoW/Campbell curses either, but if I were a player, I probably still wouldn't touch them because of tradition. As a fan, I also didn't touch the Stanley Cup when it came to my hometown out of respect for the players who earned the right to do that. Sure, nobody really cares if you touch it, but I appreciate the work the players put in to acquire the silverware, and I prefer to leave that privilege to them.

  10. His head hits the boards and then hits the ice. I'd be concerned about his return to the lineup next season.

  11. Shannon, early thoughts on finals? I think it can go either way, but I'm leaning toward Vegas, would be nice to see them get 1st one!

  12. Canes probably missed Svechnikov more than ever during this series. In a series of tight, tight games he could have been a difference maker. A huge one at that.

  13. The proper thing to do for either The Prince of Wales or Campbell trophies is for the captain to accept the trophy, pick it up showing his teammates and the crowd, and then skate with it to the dressing room. Watch how Steve Yzerman always reacted when The Wings won The Campbell Trophy. Skating around the rink is not appropriate. It's not because of any curse but because that's not the trophy you are playing for.

  14. IDK what to even say about this series as a Hurricanes fan. Sometimes you get the bear and sometimes he gets you. Canes had a great season but Panthers seem like a team of destiny with everything going their way. Good luck Panthers fans I am rooting for you guys

  15. I appreciate your objective analysis. Can you get a job with TNT or ESPN as an analyst?

  16. Good series, despite it being one sided. Carolina has nothing to be ashamed about. They gave it their all in every game. But Florida is still alive.

  17. When unfamiliar future hockey fans look back at the postseason results of this year, they will assume that it was an easy Panthers win. This was definitely one of the most competitive 'sweeps' in history. The argument can be made that Carolina outplayed Florida in every game.

  18. As a hurricane fan you can’t ignore brindamour lack of winning on the road in the playoffs it’s just incredible

  19. i just feel bad for Tkachuk that he couldn't just skate right to the exit after his game winning goal 🙁

  20. Nobody will remember that every game was decided by a goal. They'll only remember the sweep. So frustrating but hats off to Bobrovsky and the Panthers.

  21. The Bettman Factor is alive and well. Refs should not have called that “trip” and that WAS goalie interference. Goalie had stick shoved into his pad and wasn’t able to get square. What would call have been at opposite end of the ice? It is clear NHL wants the FLA-VGK Final. And if Arizona ever gets into the playoffs, the Bettman influence will be off the charts.

  22. Just saw a video Florida picked up the conference championship trophy just jinxed themselves ..just my opinion
