There's no ownership group in Kansas City and apparently that arena makes money (with concerts and events) that they'd probably lose by having 41 NHL dates. The best market bar none for a new hockey team would be a second team in Toronto which would NEVER happen lol
Quebec City is the only place you could make money at this point. Already a fan base in place and a ready made rivalry that already existed. The Quebec market along with Ontario are about the only place i can see expansion working were the team isn't a welfare queen and a drag on the league….Oh and pardon the term "welfare queen" left is best. ✌
what about saskatchewan? lol they were going to move the blues to saskatoon at a point in the 70's
Houston, Kansas City, and Quebec are all viable options.
Until Gary Bettman goes, there won't be any Canadian team in the NHL
Putting the Coyotes in Phoenix was the worst decision he made since he wants teams in the Southern part of the US
Although some have been successful teams like the Coyotes have been failures both on and off the ice
I love Emma's hockey takes. There's western American markets that could support a team in terms of size. Kansas, Salt Lake City, Portland, San Diego, Houston, and San Francisco off the top of my head are all huge western American markets they could tap so they're not playing in a college arena in a city that would rather have a landfill than their arena.
