The League was worth about 1B (inflation adjusted) and is worth 6 now. Thats a pretty good jump. I'd say that Gary is pretty responsible for the jump

Re: Digital Board Ads FYI: This year's Sports Emmys nominated the NHL Broadcasts for their "Digitally Enhanced Dasher Boards." For the record, it did not win in their category (The George Wensel Technical Achievement Award), which was awarded on May 22.
Let's say Shanahan told them they are safe and Brad is going to the leafs. Both these things are "true" in this hypothesis
What happened looks something like this.
leafs wanted to talk with Brad, Calgary caves on it but no drft talk. Brad does an interview/vision/input for his vision of the leafs going forward. Tells Shanahan all 4 are part of the vision. Shanahan happy with the interview/vision, green lights Brad then goes and tells the 4 they are safe.

I hope that the rumour that the core 4 in Toronto being untouchable isn't true. If so, any GM coming in might as well walk away and let Shanahan wear the hat instead. The team needs change, the players with the highest value that could make that happen are in that top 4. You want to win, or do you want to hold onto a dream with no results?
