Should be. Such a natural fit and he’s a local guy, I’ve always enjoyed Ferraro’s broadcasts.

If there was ever a good candidate to replace Cheechiepoo, this is it

  3. WiFiForeheadWrinkles

    I could live with this

  4. redditguyinthehouse

Solid candidate, would make the games feel like NHL15

  5. superschaap81

Love this idea. I heard he had scaled back his broadcasting to be with his family more, but I hear him on ESPN all the time? At least with the Vancouver broadcasts he’d be at home.

  6. ltcoogan

This would be awsome I find him super underrated he takes a ton of flack but I enjoy his input

  7. ebb_omega

Honestly I think he’s the best colour guy in the business and this would be huge for us if it happened.

  8. FOOTdive

His commentary on Patrik Stefan’s blunder will forever be burned into my brain.

  9. AS_Empire

It would have been more fun if it’s Shane O Brien

Nothing against Ferraro but I sure hope Garrett wasn’t pushed out for him, and considering he’s not retiring it’s hard to shake the feeling that may be the case. Hopefully stepping back and reducing his workload was Cheech’s choice

Not a bad replacement notwithstanding the fact that Cheech is irreplaceable.

Bit if a conflict of interest? Isn’t his wife the AGM? I’ve always liked Ray and his candor but having his wife work for the organization might make less likely to critique the club?

  13. sam4999

Solid choice imo. Ray has been around for a long time and is one of the best in the biz

    Trail BC guy too!

So wait, Cybulski is already covering Abbotsford. If we get Ferraro for Vancouver, that would mean we have both the EA NHL commentators covering our teams. That’d be hilarious.

This would be a massive improvement over John Garrett

  16. BLKMKT85

This would be amazing thing to happen

  17. I’d be so down for this. Hate to see Garrett go, but Ferraro would probably be the best possible replacement.

He’s a great analyst, only issue I have is he won’t be able to rip any players, coaches or management anymore.

But this market could use someone to defend them sometimes, so that’ll be nice.

The guy ha an undiagnosed head wound and sees things that aren’t even there. He’s rattling off about something the replay clearly shows never happened.

  20. Puravida1904

Would be a great replacement. My worry is that he won’t be very critical and have a bias since his wife is in the organization…. Almost feels like a conflict of interest

I could manage to live with it, but I don’t love the choice.

If they’ve thrown all the available money at Kevin Bieksa and he’s turned it down, then this is the second best option.

  22. Looney_forner

Him and gord miller were an absolute dream team during international hockey games

  23. Emergency_Wolf_5764

Ferraro would be the perfect choice, as he is based in North Vancouver anyway.

The fact that his wife works for the Canucks should be deemed entirely irrelevant.

He’ll be working on game broadcasts, not player trades.

    Next.

If the Canucks could find players like they find commentators, we’d have at least 5 cups by now.
