Go Florida keep that magical run alive!
Sorry guys, but Florida bought some magic beans at the start of the playoffs and are headed straight up the bean pole no matter how many giants get in the way. Florida in 7.
X-factor Rod Brind' Amour.
Hurricanes in 7
Panthers in 6
Every EC preview prediction I've seen unless done by a FL fan have all picked Carolina. I find that interesting since FL was a huge underdog in Boston and Toronto and came out on top of both. It's going to be fun watching FL prove all the "experts" wrong, again.
Canes in 6
Florida’s lineup is actually really really good 😮 effing stacked.
Hurricanes in 5. You heard me.
Panthers are stacked the bruins were tough too now they're in cancun
This is the fuel that Florida uses to not just win BUT DESTROY their opponents
Something to consider for Florida's 4th line is the potential return of Ryan Lomberg, is a huge improvement over either Dalpe or White, whoever he slots in over.
Florida in 4
Barkov is Russian isn't he?
Became huge Florida fan this year. I’m saying Panthers in 7 or Canes in 6.
GO CANES 🌀
Panthers in 5 or 6
burns is scary. the whole carolina team is psychological warfare lol.
i think panthers bring wingers back to carry out the puck. they have to drop the defense inside to play phsyical. if they bring wingers back double up on the puck and dump it to the corner they are going to get players in on net. playing the boards through the neutral zone always opens up the middle lane so they can rely on freezing the puck. but i think you need your defense to close out and play physical on the break and you have to get movement on the puck and in front of net. i hope they can bang offensively and chase and clean up around net. you do not want carolina setting up all game offensively. if they are going to keep tkachuk bennet and verhaege back on defense they dont have to do much but keep a winger wide and keep carolina wide in the neutral zone. moving the goalie by skating behind net, and extending the play by moving the puck around for shots could swing the series immediately. also, bobrovsky needs to close out on the puck so he doesnt get sniped and backdoored. maybe he shouldnt cover the puck and push offense?
carolina got some really easy defensive matchups. plus tkachuk was scoreless against toronto after 11 points in round one, but so was tavares and mathews. its probably going to be a defensive series where carolina can line change early and play defense and not worry about florida setting up a cycle. the point is all theirs. burns line is gonna have problems versus bennet who hasnt let up a goal. i think carolina has a better offense than last year and it fits its snipers better. the goalies andersen and raanta are probably the best duo in the league rn. they obviously will plan to play defense and attack on the break for most of the series. they could really impact play in the neutral zone but it would not be attacking into the zone or wide at the boards, so i dont think they will commit too hard at the red line. the blue line offensively for carolina is actually what i think will define the series in wins and losses.
NJ was the wrong benchmark for the series vs Florida. Comparing NJ and Florida is like apples and oranges. Devils play a run and gun game under Bruno. Who was the Panthers coach last year after winning the president trophy. And how often does a coach get fired after winning the president trophy? Why he get fired? Because he can’t coach playoffs. So this gives you a sense of what NJ is like, and what Florida is not like. Benchmarking Florida against NJ is a no go. If Florida is comparable to NJ, then the panthers top brass wouldn’t have a job now. They spent an entire season to not become what NJ is now. This should of been a major red flag to raise prior to the series. And I think you see why now.
Last series there were so many leafs fanboys making these podcast reviews with wild speculations as they jerk off to a sheet of paper with their core 4 names on it. You can see them salivating when they speak their names. And look where they are now. It’s not all about the players and lines. It’s about the team structure, their system, and mentality. Those are what makes reviews great.
