I love the moral high ground of telling someone to off themselves because they still like a team that fucked something up 13 years ago.

Saw on the Preds reddit that some want to do a kyle beach chant during our pick « in support ». Not sure if I can link it but yeah.

Fans around the league will hate us for a while. We all know the team fucked up big but in that aftermath did all they could to make things right. No way to make KB whole but they did all they could. Best to avoid online discourse for the next 2-3 months or your just gonna get hate.

These comments don’t bother me as much as they used to when you realize these fans don’t actually care about Kyle Beach and what happened and are using him and his trauma as a tactic to dunk on Hawks fans. It’s despicable behaviour when you really think about it.

Not sure what more can be done. Everyone involved has been fired, and I have no idea how to get rid of an owner. All Hawks fans that I know(including myself) are disgusted with what happened, are we not allowed to look to the future?

I’d just respond that I was all for the nhl coming together, forcing our ownership to sell the team to new people and forfeit picks when it came out. You support a league that didn’t punish our organization more harshly or force our owners to sell the team, but criticize fans for supporting their players, coaches, and front office that have nothing to do with that situation. By watching your team, you generate revenue for the NHL, which gives money directly to every ownership, even the Blackhawks.

few boys bein boys not much more to say. few fellas horsin around is all

  8. The Athletic’s comment section is a complete disaster on like 95% of articles lol

It’s like I’m looking at a reading of a call of duty lobby on Xbox when I was 13. The moral high ground these guys are on. I wish someone would try to fight me in my hawks jersey BECAUSE of the hawks jersey.

That’s because the athletic went from interesting alternative to a poor mans deadspin once they started hiring people like Laz. He made his name covering the Hawks then suddenly started making them the villains. I’m guessing all his fluff pieces during the early runs were in hopes he would somehow get a job in the organization and once they rejected him so he went scorned ex-girlfriend at every opportunity

Lazarus is a prick and shouldn’t be writing for the Hawks, he’s not even a Hawks fan

  12. DannyTannersFlow

I love how obvious it is how few people have even read the report about what happened.

  13. mindham86

Where the outcry for all the team Canada cover ups that are far mor extensive and happened since the 80’s

  14. Breadman65

Just about everyone gone from that time period, you can’t fire the owner.

I know it’s the off season but is this all I’m gonna get to read from this sub come October, too? Constantly just posting complaints about idiots in the internet instead of info on the hawks?

It’s getting as fatiguing as the idiots on the internet at this point.

I very much enjoy the mental gymnastics of these types of comments basically blaming the fans for what happened. Shits wild.

Well, the Athletic employs writers that drastically overstated who knew what, engaged in rampant speculation (including about what, say Toews knew at the time), didn’t (as best I could tell) report on the portions of the independent report that were unfavourable to Beach, completely flossed over what the other person that claimed to be there that night said happened, acted as stenographers for the lawyer of John Doe #2, cried when Rocky got mad at them, promoted the theory that Q recommended Aldrich for other jobs (far more than they ever publicized John Doe’s lawyers correction to that claim)…

The Blackhawks failed to follow their sexual harassment policies. As a result, people were fired.

Lazerus, Powers and other writers there presented a slanted, sensationalized version of the facts. I’m not going to be shocked that the opinions of people that subscribe there slant in the same direction.
