  1. He wanted to stay in Calgary, he wanted a long term deal but Calgary wanted the bridge deal , that’s why he left Calgary,, flames could of had him at a cheaper rate

  2. Jack left NYB because they didn't want to green light the medical procedure he wanted to fix his neck. i get it you need contraversey but at least be somewhat accurate. making up facts to get validate your opinion is weak. do better.

  3. Euchre also wanted surgery and Buf wanted him to do something he didn’t want to. It isn’t the same

  4. If Matthews leaves I would blame taxes and if there's another pandemic it's ass here so many Americans would not like Canada.

  5. Mathew Tkachuk has a skill set that is very valuable and it is his prerogative to ask for a trade. It is called capitalism. Maybe Calgary city and organization should of been a more desirable place to live and work. With high taxes, strict covid lockdowns and general socialist policies in Canada, maybe he want to live in a state with no state taxes, and freedom from Canada’s crazy far left politics. If the player was going to Calgary, you would not be upset. Personally as an American, I would never want to work or live in Canada.

  6. Alexis Lafrenière to Canucks… and we'll be like, Tkachuk who? Also, Eichel left Buffalo over his injury and disagreements about what kind of surgery he should get. I don't see Petey doing that… specially since we have a budding family of Suede Swedes in Vancouver.

  7. While the Canucks' performance or lack thereof might make Pettersson and Hughes leaving a foregone conclusion, Pettersson isn't American. We're seeing more high profile, star American-born players in the NHL now and between wanting to play in their home country, lower taxes and a real chance at winning the Cup, it's not surprising. It just makes more sense for an American player, or any player, to play in the US. Sure, Canada might have the most passionate fans and you're literally playing in a hockey city, but Canadian teams don't win anything, so what's the difference? JT Miller resigned in Vancouver because chances are, nobody else was going to offer a 30 year old hockey player that kind of contract. Calgary did as well, but they're not winning anything either. The teams who win have all their top players well under the age of 30. If you're 30+, you're bordering on a complementary player. You don't play an older, complementary player 8 or 10.5 million per on a long term contract. Miller could be a 50-60 point player as soon as the first year of his big contract. And it could all be downhill from there. Until a team figures out how to put together a winner with young players either on ELC or fresh off it, Canada won't see a championship, because a lot of guys who aren't Canadian, even if they're not American, will want to play where they have lower taxes and a chance to win.

  8. If Pettersson is smart he at least waits until next summer to sign. Giving him the chance to see how next season turns out

  9. I would be out the door if I'm petterson…When a team is as good as paper and management just can't get it together their is no reason to rebuild a team from scratch again…I really want Stevie yezerman to make a big move for him… Having a 1 2 punch petterson and Larkin sounds great to me….Van doesn't have stable defense like Detroit. Defense wins championships and Detroit is only getting better…Ott might of put them selves in a hole and could be a in between team for many years… Buf has a good chance…
