I like debrincat, but he's not a fit and it's too much money. Trade bait at the draft. Agree
Can't pay 9 million for a second line Winger. He's not taking a discount so the only intelligent option is to move him. We can find a much better fit he's a great player and will fetch a good return. Top line players don't get traded to often. I would rather have Hellebuyck then Debrincat. Maybe they can move to bring it and use those pieces to get Hellebuyck. The goal is the most important position
Trade him at the draft…period. Get a proven goalie and a proven r dman…trade Lassi.
Excuse me if I digress but Jason York ( who usually makes a lot of sense) kept talking about the power play. Can you discuss the absurdity of DJ Smith taking Chabot out of the #1 power play unit and putting in Sanderson. That mistake cost the Sens dearly because the #2 power play in the NHL lost its anchor and consequently eliminated the Sens from the playoffs. Smith finally realized his mistake after the power play kept sliding down the rankings but Chabot was injured a game or 2 after being put back on the #1 PP unit. Sanderson is an excellent Dman but he is not yet quite as good as Chabot on the pp. So, in your opinion, who should anchor the #1 power play unit this coming season ?
As for DeBrincat, he is highly skilled and really helps the power play. However his +/- was terrible (-27 methink) and only Batheson had a worse +/-. Although he handles himself well physically, he is only a half/pint and bigger players are desirable in the post-season. He is entertaining to watch and perhaps the return of Josh Norris will improve DeBrincat's +/-. However, Pierre Dorion should trade him at trhe draft if he can anything of value, especially for a player with grit.
Trade him at the draft. Get out in front of Sanderson. Get a goalie and start adding depth.
