Good things Leafs are doing: 1) Focus on Matthews contract, 2) Treliving has a good record improving defence men, 3) Leafs 2 goalies were good in playoffs – they are still assessing getting a A1 goalie. Bad things are: 1) Leafs might keep a weak core 4 structure includes 2 small wingers. Why? 2) Conflict of interests in Dubas contract allegations not transparent
Roy coaching Toronto and they also trade and get Carey Price, whoa! That would be very very interesting now wouldn’t it
Leafs will never go anywhere with 5 guys making up 60 percent of the salary cap, that is just ridiculous. Tavares isn't worth what he's making, Matthews and Marner disappear in the playoffs and Nylander has one 40 goal season in 8 years, Reilly is a solid d man but he's one guy back there. Whoever thinks you can win with no goaltending and a weak defense doesn't understand the game. The most balanced teams win, just look at Edmonton, 2 best players in the world and couldn't get out of the second round. Leafs are the same, no balance.
Suffering Leaf fan since 67 .The thing I find I ask myself is WHY ? WHY this coach, Gm and president ! Why this trade with NO returns ? Why players that Will NOT play out of their comfort zone ? Why they spend 1.30 sec of a PP without a shot and finally WHY do I care ? My REALITY now is I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired ! I DON'T CARE what they do anymore .They don't so… WHY SHOULD I !

The Caufield is injury prone thing is just not true lol. It’s his first injury since entering the league. And he was still scoring while being injured. They shut him down because the season was a lost cause.
Babcock in Columbus isn't really the discussion we need here. I have no time for Babcock anymore. Maybe the Leafs can't get an ideal coach in place by September but with the GM in place, get moving quickly on initial talks and winnow them down if possible, or go for Keefe if that's not possible.

You are forgetting that Treliving is also a Dubas guy. How are you missing that? Change for the sake of change is what you’re really saying. Right, this is not the right time to make the change. Roy is not the right guy. Roy knows how to win in the minors. Keefe won in the minors too. You guys sound like idiots. Keefe is not stupid. He learned a lot from the last series that by the way, the Leafs DID NOT LOSE that series. That was a series stolen two different ways. The correct calls and this conversation would not be happening. Anyway, Keefe left alone to fix the deficiencies both he and Dubas clearly saw as well, would work with Treliving to fix those flaws. KNIES was part of that fix and all the evidence you blind mice need to see that the next step would have happened. The bottom line is that Shanahan blew it big time and realized just as Dubas did later, that cooler heads should have prevailed. Dubas in Pittsburgh is going to put the boots to Shanahan eventually. If Keefe goes, Dubas will find a way to scoop him up. Sullivan or no Sullivan. Shanahan just made the Penguins stronger.

Surely every coach in the NHL or hockey would be happy to coach the Leafs. Play in the biggest and richest market in the NHL.
