Graphic was wrong here is full trade details.

    To CBJ: Ivan Provorov,

To Flyers: 2023 No. 22 overall pick, LAKings 2024 2nd Rd Pick, CBJ 2nd Rd Pick in 2024 or 2025, Cal Petersen, Sean Walker, prospect Helge Grans

To LAKings: 30% retained on Provorov, Hayden Hodgson, Kevin Connauton

EDIT: Seravalli missed Hayden Hodgson going to LA and incorrectly had Kevin Connauton going to CBJ when he is actually going to LA

EDIT 2 Conditions on the CBJ 2nd: Columbus must inform Philadelphia which year they elect to trade (2024 or 2025) immediately following the first round of the 2024 NHL Draft for the conditional second-round pick.

An absolute masterpiece. Danny is giving me the first real tangible hope I’ve had in years. An absolutely amazing start

  3. abearghost

Cleaning up some of Fletcher’s mess nicely.

  4. WhenPigsRideCars

Damn, the Kings got robbed in a back alley, and the robber came back to shank them in the dick after already getting the money. Just because.

  5. SplendaMan

    Can’t we have 3OA instead of 22

  6. kosmo8pa

Danny « why didn’t we fire Chuck before the deadline » Briere!!!!

  7. Great first transaction in my opinion. Provy used to be one of my favorite players on the team until… well…. Yeah. Keep ‘em coming.

  8. doc-mantistobogan

Now bring Johnny hockey home, briere!

I feel the need to clarify I am joking.

This is a fart in the sail’s for the « of course ____ plays hard, they like Tort’s ».

Charlie had a article of Hart expressing concerns over Tort’s methods and team direction. The next day Farabee’s agent came out with the literal same sentiment of this team’s direction under Tort’s.

I suggest nobody looks up what Cutter has to say about Kevin Hayes. Mark it down, he won’t play or sign here, he’s made it clear through his bff affair for Hayes.

  11. Previous_Cycle_6404

The creativity to pull this off is a great sign. Feel like these are the trades being made now. Bunch of pieces that chuck would never do. Flip that Columbus first and hart for a top 5 this year? That’d be cool

  12. AfroHaitian_Sparks

Tort’s underestimated the drama filled meeting’s that he admitted came with negative side effects. The player’s that he deemed as « men » for handling the tough « love » correctly are still bff’s with the one’s he wants to run out of town.

Gunther Cutter is a Hayes fan + seemed not impressed with Tort’s + 110% wanted to go pro right away after 1/2 year of college but has turned on that idea= classic NCAA prospect walking to become a free agent. Thanks Tort’s!

  13. No_Bank_330

Solid deal. Very good first trade.

  14. foggybottom

Maybe I’m dense here, but what are the Kings getting out of this?

  15. FreeeShipping

This is a great deal if you ask me. Provorov no longer wanted to be here, and always left the fans wanting more. With the 22nd and the 7th, you can run the draft board for two names or see if you can get creative and move into the top 5 for a real impact player. I would rather them pick at 7/22, but they now have the option to go after a name they like. 2 seconds will help replenish the prospect pool. I imagine Cal Peterson will go to the minors. I like Hayden Hodgson but the odds of him becoming even a replacement level player in the NHL is low. Everything else in the deal is a wash. I don’t know how you walk away from this deal as a Philly fan and feel remotely disappointed.

  16. ClearSightss

Uhhh…Provy was worth that much or is Briere just a fucking genius?

I think other teams GMs didn’t watch Provy as closely this past year as us fans that had to suffer through every game.

Love the move. But my signed Provy gear doesn’t… 😢

  17. kilen1909

Hot damn. I was waiting for the moves to start, but Briere is certainly not half-assing it. This is reassuring, honestly.

  18. LeonardoTurtleDog

As a British fan who finds NHL trades unnecessarily complicated, can somebody explain why LA have 30% retained on Provorov? Does that mean they pay 30% of his salary? If so, why?

  19. BiSportsFan

I’m trying so hard to see how this trade isn’t a fleece by philly here. What a job by Danny B

  20. bigcracker

Long time since I made a post here. Danny B just fleeced them.

  21. Snips_Tano

If we can stockpile more picks, we might be able to move up even further than 5 WITHOUT trading Hart.

  22. Neat-Confidence5556

start the process. trade anything that has a sliver of value. late 2020’s we win our cup

  23. biohazard842

This reminds me of the Duchene masterclass by Joe Sakic.

That worked out well. Expecting this to also.

  24. Phillyfan10

I’ll admit, I had some concerns that Briere was just going to be another Flyer alumn nepo hire that was selected for his name and not his talent, but this is certainly quite the first step to ease those concerns.

That is a fantastic haul for Provy.

  25. Intelligent_Loss_393

Can’t wait to give a shit about Flyers hockey again. Just hope I live that long.

Also, not to throw cold water, but we got similar return for Carter and Richards to Kickstart the last rebuild that squad was never more than pretty good. Still, a move that had to be made.

I’ll also miss Carter Hart if/ when that drops, but can’t go halfway on this.

  26. deadnside

3 different writers from the Athletic gave the Flyers an A-, an A and an A. The Kings received an A, a C+ and a B while the Blue Jackets received an B, D+ and a D+. So at least on paper, the Flyers did very well. Now we just need Briere to nail the draft.

  27. schoolairplane

Ol Wharton Grad Daniel Briere there

  28. Dakota360ci

Nice to see Danny is committed to the rebuild. Chuck could never figure out such a trade.
