    What the hell is the person suggesting the PLD to Montréal smoking? Winnipeg has absolutely no leverage in that situation, and they won't be getting multiple players and picks back on an expiring asset pre deadline. Unless he outright retracts his intention to be a free agent next summer, thirty gm's don't dare give anything too valuable for him and one doesn't have to.

    Why would Montreal give up any valuable assets if it’s so clear that PLD would go to MTL if he goes to unrestricted free agency? Montreal isn’t good enough it would matter to them that they get Dubois a bit later.

    5:20 — As a Sabres fan, absolutely no way. Our biggest problem wasn’t even goaltending, it was defense. A lot of the bad goaltending stats come from either (a) Granato not pulling goalies when basically anyone else in the NHL would, or (b) UPL losing motivation when a game is out of reach and letting in goals in garbage time that don’t actually affect the outcome (e.g. last 2 goals of the 2nd to last BOS game). There are trade ideas I would be open to leaving which picks to trade open:

    Lyubushkin + [picks, maybe 2023 2nd+2024 1st?] for Nate Schmidt (Jets trade, in keeping with video’s theme)

    Tyson Jost RFA rights + [picks] for Nic Dowd

    Matthew Savoie/other forward prospect + [picks] for Brock Faber

    And my most ridiculous idea:
    3 way trade between sens, sabres, and jets
    Sens get Hellebuyck
    Sabres get Artem Zub
    Jets get Sabres forward prospect + sens/sabres picks
    It’s just crazy enough that it could work

    No way BUFFALO does this! They have Devon Levi, they also won’t trade JJ Peterka who had 80 points in 80 AHL games last year at age 19 and this year looked good in the NHL.
