The most interesting thing with Gibson is he has 4 years left on his deal and Kooch new 4 year deal kicks in this year.
Would allow us to have security in net for an extended period while also not having to deal with concerns over handing the reigns to Kochetkov. Gives a clear timeline for him to develop and earn his next deal while John gets a chance to redeem himself on a better team.

Having actively watched Gibson for a while, I think he’d be a good acquisition. I mentioned it about 4 months ago on a thread when people were frustrated with Andersen and Raanta injuries. The Ducks do not have a defense so his numbers are impressive for that fact. He’s also one of the best goalies I’ve seen in general in the past few years, think his time on the Ducks has probably been frustrating. He’s had insanely high save percentages in the past, and I haven’t seen much in terms of injuries for him (i could have missed it) so that’s a plus

seems like a bad contract at full value.
