Reminds me of the Bill Peters to Geoff Ward switch, experienced external hire to assistant promotion. Maybe it allows for a cheaper HC contract while absorbing the buyout of the bench boss who’s out the door.
Hope Huska can last more than 3 seasons. The flames coaching carousel the past decade has been outrageous.

Whenever I hear Ryan Huska’s name, I remember reading that he was the captain of the Indianapolis Ice of the old IHL back in 1998.
