[Sportsnet650] Trevor Linden sur sa présidence : « J’ai essayé d’avoir une vision plus longue, mais parfois cela n’a pas fonctionné pour les gens. »
🗣️"I tried to have a longer vision, but at times that didn't work for people."
▶️@MikeHalford604 (he's there, trust us) & @SadClubCommish are joined in-studio by #Canucks great Trevor Linden on his time as team president.

sigh what could’ve been
I would really like to see Trevor back in the hockey scene at the executive level. Maybe not necessarily NHL level, but even at the various tiers of hockey that can be found in BC.
Fuck Aquilini and his impatient « two games of playoff revenue » ass for the 10,457th time.
Linden was right. Forever.
Aquaman’s desire to bypass a proper rebuild is why we’re gonna waste Petey’s and Demko’s primes. Hughes is a UFA at like 28. So he can still enjoy his prime elsewhere if this retool fails.
Jason Brough looks like Garret Dillahunt here
Panthers didn’t win, but their Cinderalla run this year is 100% going to convince Aquaman and Allvin to go all in and make the playoffs this season, because « aNyTHInG cAN hAPeN ».
Really don’t expect us to be drafting with our 11th overall in a month.
Wouldn’t be shocked to see OEL and Garland moved and us signing O’Reilly and Klingberg to long term deals with the extra capsapce
Aqua and Benning literally ended his executive career before it even got started. He could be a great NHL exec.
Capitalism sure fucking sucks sometimes doesn’t it. Especially when business owners are unwilling to throw money in the garbage can year after year by being bad on purpose, subsequently driving consumers away from the product… especially so with the large fair-weather fanbase in this particular market. That’s the truth of the matter.
Longer vision = financial losses. No bueno, Trev.
Would’ve been nice though. Maybe they’d have more young pieces/assets in the pipeline to build around rather than having to trade and capped out all the time.
Not the greatest path to take, but an alternative that apparently kept the coffers full enough for the blueberryman group to keep at it with ol Jimbo all those years.
Is what it is.
