Hallelujah, praise be, wish them all the best but I am so glad Drouin’s time here is done. Fans deserved better, Drouin deserved better, Bergevin deserves nothing but both sides of his pillow to be warm and lumpy

In other news, water is wet.

In all seriousness, it’s a good time to cut ties. Say what you will about both players (and there’s more than enough to say); but the future is looking bright and we need the roster spots to continue improving and seeing who will help us long term

Good luck Gurianov and Drouin. All the best

Good to know but no suprise here.

  4. Caufield = 7.8M

    Gurianov + Drouin = 2.9 + 5.5 = 8.4M

Money in, money out. Just a basic numbers game.

I would have took a chance with Guri on a decent contract but close to 3M$, no chance.

I really hope Drouin finds a spot where he can be productive in a second line role with good linemates. He was brought here to be The Guy and that’s not what he is: I think he could be a good player in the right situation as a complementary depth scorer and I wish him well.

As for Gurianov, well, at least they tried to turn Dadonov into something. Needless to say, he won’t be missed much.

    Deadline an absolute failure

I am only sad that losing Gurianov for nothing means the end of the PK Subban trade tree…

I’ve been waiting for this day 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I wonder who the Drouin haters are going to move onto next. Gallagher?

Long overdue, wish him the best but damn was that a failed experiment

I watched guri in like 3 games and he created lots of offence. What’s the deal with everyone hating him so much?

I can’t read french, is this saying that Gurianov and Drouin will not return as Habs?

I would offer 3 million for 2 years to gurianov. We should not be pressed for that cash and I think he is a nice drouin replacement at a proper drouin cap hit.

If I had to guess it was a coachability issue; or my weird trade idea where the habs retain 3 million on price for bobrovski comes to fruition some how.

Am I the only person who wants Drouin back?

He’s skilled, his biggest issue was injuries last season, he doesn’t have to score if he’s doing all the playmaking. If people are worried about him being unable to handle the pressure, the habs could get better medical/psychological staff.

I just hate the idea of letting go of a skilled player while he’s still useful. Especially when we’re not exactly loaded on talent. He basically never got to demonstrate where he excelled other than one season, which is during the effing playoffs. And we’ll need that sooner than later.

Depending on what he signs for, I will be very annoyed we didn’t re-sign him if that is indeed the case.
