@Blues de Saint-Louis

    Keller would fit in the age range that Doug is going after, but the yotes were hesitant to trade Chych to to stl.. so the price tag for Keller you’d have to image starts with 2 first round picks + a few meaningful prospects.

    It makes no sense for AZ to trade Keller to us so idk why they’re even speculating that. I’d love to have him here though.

    I mean Keller is elite. I don’t think offense is 100% the need, but if you can grab Clayton Keller, you grab Clayton Keller. I would love a remix of our d core more though.

    No idea why Arizona would do this, and no idea how we would construct a package that makes sense for us. We’re trying to make room for existing prospects, not trade them away to win now. Not like we need a winger either.

    On the other hand, he’s a hometown boy, totally elite and a total Blues killer. It’d be great to have him on the team. We’d be lucky if any of our prospects turn into a player like him, so might as well trade then for the guaranteed return.

    FWIW, Jamie Rivers said on 101 today that the rumors cannot be true, that the whole idea is ludicrous. He doesn’t work monetarily or personnel-wise.

    That having been said, I can’t stand Rivers. I find him to be a pompous ass and a bit of a liar.

    If we’re going to move out salary to bring somebody in, we absolutely have to start with defense. Why bother bringing in Keller if our blue line is Swiss cheese

  7. I doubt it. Unlike with Tkachuk Arizona has no reason to trade Keller yet. He’s signed for another 5 years, why would a team that is rebuilding trade away a piece like this now? The only way it happens is if Keller orchestrates his way out of town but (Bill) Armstrong isn’t going to trade him unless he gets a deal that he really likes. It was the same with Tarasenko who voiced a desire to be moved but (Doug) Armstrong didn’t trade him until he got a deal he liked.

    If they were in on Timo Meier they should be in on Keller

    I’d give our 2 firsts for Keller and schmaltz or hayton

    I just clicked on this not even processing that the subs back up

    Anyway, we’d have to restructure a bunch of stuff. There’s no way our offense is our priority, but I think it’s pretty possible that Armstrong doesn’t move out more than just one defenseman. He’ll probably just be hoping at least one of Faulk or Paralyko bounces back a bit
