On face value it sounds like a good deal (2 1sts and a prospect), but that #10 from St. Louis seems more enticing than 25 & 29

Sens dont need another RW is the problem, at least this coming year, we need a LW if debrincat is leaving. That said, the player i think would make the most sense would be someone like pavel buchnevich from the blues. Buchnevich is a good shutdown forward who can put up decent points, would be great on ottawa's second line with norris and batherson, and debrincat can be a top line winger on the blues. I think its a good hockey trade at the end of the day, and if sens front office havent sniffed in this direction yet, they should at least make some calls

I really hope the Blues just draft those later picks. If they were so worthless why is everyone asking for them. The Blues need to keep all three and trade to go up the draft to get exactly who they want. Let the Senators and Flyers peddle their high priced wares elsewhere. With everyone having boners over Tkachuk type players right now and TK (age 26 with 2 seasons left under 6mil) coming off a PPG season with 30 goals (was on pace for 40 in 82 games)… TK should bring back a HAUL.

As a Red Wing fan, I've come to the conclusion we aren't going to see many trades. Top teams lack cap space. The Red Wings have a lot of cap space. It would seem logical that some team would trade with the Wings. But we see nothing. It appears teams aren't interested in the Wings draft picks. Plus, Yzerman seems to want to keep his draft picks and add more prospects. A lot of teams keep waiting. Once the draft picks get used to select prospects, it all changes and you have to start over with negotiations for trades. Teams seem to believe some miracle will come along and solve their cap space problems, without making changes..
Would rather the blues just trade for Konecny. Think he's a better fit, hopefully Philly would be willing to take on one of our bad contracts.
Konekny would be a good fit in Ottawa.. not sure they need to add a prospect to the deal though, Debrincat should be enough
LOL it's already been reported that it's basically down to Dallas and Detroit for Alex DeBrincat. Ottawa doesn't have the picks and prospects to get TK and anything the Blues offer up for DeBrincat Yzerman would just blow away. Doug Armstrong obviously isn't surrendering the 10th overall pick. But Yzerman is willing to offer up the 17th overall pick for a potential 40 goal scorer in Alex Debrincat. The hockey writers are a royal joke. most of their trades absolutely make no sense.

Why would any player want to be in Canada at this point? The Liberal/NDP coalition Government are destroying this country. The erosion of freedoms during Covid is a stain that can’t be forgotten. Canada was becoming the laughing stock of the world, before Putin took all the attention off the Trudeau attacks on the civil liberties of his own citizens! The taxes are a joke here, and seemingly getting worse by the quarter – with another carbon scam tax coming on July 1. Property values, and interest rates are through the roof. It’s seemingly impossible at this point to think that Bettman will ever allow the Cup to return home….31 years, and counting now, since it has! A player has to think that they actually have a shot to be a champion, or they’re going to move into a situation where they will. I don’t blame any of these guys for wanting the hell out of here, until at the very least, we’re in a situation where the World Economic Forum is no longer having their puppets in Ottawa use Canada as a Great Reset testing ground.
I would think the Blues might target Konecny, but not in this three way trade. Blues need a Center and a Dman, not another winger and Konecny makes more sense than Debrincat. Blues also need some grit up front.
Gaudreau's contract according to CF, was a modified NTC, only 5 teams c/b traded to. If teams didn't want Gaudreau at Gaudreau's cost, too bad. It was a dumb clause.

I think Otts fans need to break out calculators, no joke. You need a goalie or two, unless Stutzle or Norris is going to play goal. I’ve been pumping Konecny’s tires for a year. I’ve wanted him in Ottawa before DeBrincat’s future was uncertain. I’d take Travis over Alex if I could pick between the two. Konecny fits the team way better. I’d be over the moon if this trade happens.
BUT… The trade proposed in this video isn’t even. He’s acting like Ottawa has to give DeBrincat, AND Boucher, AND other picks and prospects.
What needs to happen:
To Ottawa: Konecny
To St. Louis: DeBrincat
To Philly: A package of picks and prospects from St. Louis. MAYBE a later pick, or lesser name prospect from Ottawa.
I'd love to see Briere make that trade, but only if STL's #10 pick is coming back. Briere might have to add sweeteners to make it happen, though. I'd be surprised if Hayes or DeAngelo are moved before the draft. Those players are going to be plan b ,c, or d for teams. Imo, Konecny & Laughton are as good as gone before then. Carter Hart too if/when he's exonerated by the NHL investigation.
It makes sense that Haula would fight for nmc, since he's been bouncing around the league for the past years.

Konecny to Ottawa is not happening. The EDM proposal is more appealing.
I don’t like the Sens deal. They need to bring in a goaltender for Debrincat. Doesn’t have to be Carter Hart or Hellebuck but a top end goaltender is all the Sens are away from being a playoff contender.
