We are going to still get a good player at 19 too. I’m not so sure KD is going to be able to move up so easily. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him package some of our extra 2nds this year for some future draft picks, depending on who is left on the board.
Whats these rumours about us moving to 14?
Honestly, I’d trade for Garland or Boeser and a mid round pick next year for like 44 OA, I don’t think they’d be willing to trade 11 just for cap relief, but these are both decent players that’d help us get to the cap floor and I just don’t see them not weaponizing their draft capital to make a move
If Cristall is there at 35, I’m running to the podium. I know they’re prioritizing good skaters which he is not but his hockey IQ is bonkers and he’s the best friend of Bedard. I have faith in KD that he’ll get a good player at 19 so he can afford to take a little more of a risk with Cristall.
My ideal world is that the hawks go into round 3 with Bedard, Perrault, Cristall, Boeser, and like a Jayden Perron with on of their other seconds. If that happens, the draft is a win.
