However I’m interested in Hayes playing with Kyrou and just parking his ass in front of the net. They might make a good combo.

Hayes is an older and less healthy version of Brandon Saad that plays center. Oh, and he counts more than $2.5 million more towards the cap for the next 3 years. Hard pass from me almost regardless of cost.

I don’t have anything against Hayes as a player but idk how picking up a 31 year old on a poor contract really helps us. Maybe there’s some salary retention and/or a cap dump involved?

The complication surrounds a Blues player, believed to be Torrey Krug, not willing to waive his NTC to come to the Flyers.
However, Briere is working to see if he can flip Krug to a team for whom he would waive his NTC.
The Flyers would get one of the Blues late first rounders…
