Damn, you’ve summed up the repeated last month of habs discord conversation into a simple to read flow chart. Masterpiece

Is Zach Benson > Ryan Leonard? Don’t know much about either of them. Hoping our decision tree has ended before this in any case.

I think this year, we’ll really see what Hughes’s philosophy is.
Will he take the risky, potential-superstar player that.maybe has a difficult attitude?
Will he take the small, skillful forward?
Will he take the well-rounded, bigger winger?
Or will he draft more for need, and draft a right-handed D in a year where defensemen are scarce?

Great flowchart, but is Leonard really a reach?

This is the way. Benson over Leonard every day of the week and twice on Sundays

Good job you resumed exacly my thought about the draft

Michkov over Smith imo, I actually have a couple more prospects over Smith but would rather not get yelled at.

This is perfect. Great job! I would add one player to the last line: reach for big boy center Dvorsky

The sad part of this type of discussion is that it will take years for most people to look like fools and we won’t care by that point. Obviously the players are skilled in that specific order and picking any other order is because of bad reasons. It’s not like every draft everybody was wrong about most players.
Remember the 2015 draft? People on this reddit were saying things like.
»I feel like we already have a Hughes type dman in mete tho, and wahlstrom is so fkn skilled you can’t pass on him »
»Guys I really don’t think Tkachuk is on the same level as Zadina and Svechnikov. I’m sure Marc Bergevin does though. »

Why is Leonard somehow a « reach » and Benson isn’t?

Great job. Now we just need one with adding trade up/down scenarios. Bonus points if one of the trade scenarios includes Calgary’s conditional 2025 1rst round pick and adds its own conditions to that pick.
