Realistically, in a year or two we’ll probably all forget about this kid when the teams promotions department moves on. And hopefully, he’s not doing any of this against his will. He’s a kid who likes the team, and hopefully he’s having fun.
I won’t give my personal opinion but I agree with your stance.
I agree that it’s crossed the line into cringe. But, can we really be surprised? The NHL is absolutely HORRIBLE at marketing and promotions. Of course they were going to cling onto this and ride it into the ground until we were all sick of it.
I remember the days when we had greats like Gordie Howe, Nicklas Lidstrom, Ted Lindsay, etc as our sort of team representative at the awards. Now we’ve got a kid who seems like he’s over the whole thing and his mom who looks like she just walked over from Kid Rock’s bar on Broadway. FFS Stevie, get this team relevant again.
This is stretching a story to make something out of nothing.
Don’t see how inviting a kid to come see all of the best players in the NHL, on award night, for free is exploiting a kid.
tired of seeing this kids’ face. They force that « cheer for the baby » shit every chance they get after that one time it worked so well.
Maybe soon the product on ice will be worth cheering for instead lol
