@Flyers de Philadelphie

[Weekes] On me dit que les Flyers échangent F Kevin Hayes aux Blues contre le 6e choix de repêchage des Blues 2024, il pourrait y avoir un autre élément à l’accord.

Tried telling people his value was extremely low lol

Didn’t expect this low but me and others getting downvoted for saying a third round pick was best case scenario is funny now

  2. GimmickyBulb

This franchise. What can ya say?

    LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOO

Edit: ’24 6th for 50% retained idgaf. Pylon removed. Go be a « fun » teammate over there as you age. Bet it turns out like Yandle

It is what it is, his time here expired any any negotiating team knew that.

Kevin had it extremely rough in his time here. From losing his brother, then immediately experiencing significant core muscle issues only to come out the other end in a rebuild. He isn’t entirely devoid of criticism, but I can’t blame him for wanting a fresh start at all.

Wish him the best in STL

Is the other component us retaining half of his salary?

    Doitos>future 6th round pick

I’m not a Hayes guy but his value was shit because Torts put the writing on the wall. Hayes is coming off a career high in assists and points and we make this deal because he doesn’t see eye to eye with Torts. I know it’s just one of many changes coming but it’s not a good one for the return (or lack there of) we’re getting.

  8. Mason_35

Just say St Louis is acquiring Kevin Hayes for free

  9. Perryplat199

Finally. I don’t really care what the actul pieces are right now. I’m just tired of the constant no news the reporters were spitting out for multiple days about a trade happening.

  10. TyperMcTyperson

Cool. Another spot for a kid to show what he’s got.

  11. BetterCallStral

I know his value wasn’t high but only a 6th rounder (not even a 3rd or 4th rounder)? And at 50% cap retained?

  12. mb2231

Getting rid of Hayes for next to nothing is worth it considering his shitty work ethic won’t be a part of the team anymore.

Starting fresh with a bunch of young guys it’s crucial to have a good locker room.

Salary retention isn’t really a big issue considering this team isn’t really super close to contention anyway.

  13. MacBeardsley

    We retained 50% per Seravalli.

  14. RebuildFletcher

Kevin Hayes at 50% retained is insane value for only a 6th. Not saying it’s not a fair value based on the circumstances but he should be worth way more. Considering we are rebuilding, Torts cannot do what he did with Hayes and TDA essentially making them worthless. This is now a rebuild, not a rescue mission for a group of underperforming vets. We can’t strip our players for all their value because their not playing the right way or they don’t ‘fit the culture’. We can’t make it publicly know that we are this desperate to get certain guys out of the club.

Normally Monsieur Candie, I would say « auf wiedersehen ». But since what auf wiedersehen actually means is, till I see you again, and since I never wish to see you again to you sir, I say, goodbye.

Man, all these trades and rumors is like how it feels when you break up with an ex and then see pics of them on social media months later.

It’s like, ok, I’m happy Chuck is out but then you are reminded of how bad he fucked us when players he signed get moved for jack shit.

I get it, Kevin needed a change of scenery and every other team knew that but DAMN.

  17. LSKTheGreat1

    I am fine with this.

    1. It is not my money, and the Flyers are not bringing in any big name free agents for the foreseeable future anyway.

    2. Hayes was probably going to be bought out if a deal didn’t happen. Now it is less of a cap hit AND we get a 6th for the trouble.

    3. Gives younger guys more ice time.

    4. Hayes put up points, sure, but he also just took time off on the ice when he felt like it. So much so that the relationship between him and Torts soured. Not good for team morale and chemistry.

In a vacuum, bad. In context, good.

  18. LarryFineMD

    I read this is done.

    Hooray! Addition by subtraction.

  19. NowFook

Had zero leverage, draft in 1 day, couldnt stay w/e …

Clears roster spot for young guy and even with retainment still clears over 5 mil between moving TDA and Hayes

Hopefully we can make a trade involving Laughton or Sanheim (+ likely a cap dump) for another 1st

  20. doc-mantistobogan

The only part I’m really upset about here is that it is seeming less and less likely that we acquire another 1st

  21. flyerasooner

Thank you Torts for completely screwing any sort of value Briere could squeeze out, because you were a whiny baby.

  22. Monkeyhouse10

I hate the return. If Chuck made this deal, we would gathering our pitchforks for a mutiny

  23. Assassin2107

People are going to complain that he was worth more than a 6th (Honestly I’d say a 50% retained Hayes could be worth a 2nd), but after Nashville traded Johansan for 50% retained (Leaving 4M per year for Colorado) for literally nothing, there was essentially no shot of Flyers getting true value for Hayes.

  24. JD021993

Does this mean that the Krug trade is dead as well?

  25. GandalfMotherfucker

This isn’t even worth the retention spot they just burned for the next 3 years. They should have just held onto him at this point in my opinion, despite me not even really liking Hayes (he’s the face of the Fletcher era to me).

But yes, I do understand the flyers are trying to get worse and Hayes hurts that. This just doesn’t seem worth it at all though.

  26. MrRegularSeason

We have up more for his UFA rights lol

  27. danibrashearo6

That’s a dogshit trade. Eating 50% salary retention for 3 years when you don’t need any cap space is absurd.

  28. ted1025

Torts fucked us here…this shit needs to be kept tighter internally. There’s no reason to retain salary for a 6th round pick.
