He started talking about DeBrincat a couple minutes into the interview and does not see an avenue where the Senators acquire a first round pick in tomorrow’s draft.
I would like this trade even more if we don’t have to give up a 1st to get him.

Give him a 3rd rounder and a pat on the back. Maybe even a hug, looks like he needs one.
Would be neat if this meant a lower return than one involving a first rounder, but also could easily just be him not revealing anything at the moment.

If Stevie can get Debrincat without using 9 or 17 (keep 9, send 17), I wonder if that then keeps a Koneckny trade on the table?

But what I don’t understand is if we’re gonna and willing to trade for him why wouldn’t we just pull the trigger. The hold up has to be from the Ottawa side.
If they themselves don’t believe they’ll get a first rounder then you’d think we’d immediately be making a offer that would be approved by them.
Maybe zadina and two second rounders? That still leaves us two first and a second. Not to mention we haven’t exactly struck gold in the second round in our history. I’d give two seconds in a heartbeat for a potential 40 goal scorer who is only 25 and always healthy.
Anyone think this could be Dorion’s attempt to get the word out to the rest of the league that the offers aren’t that hot? Maybe he’s thinking an unknown team could step up to the plate even knowing signing Debrincat would be challenging? An attempt to drive up the price, even if a bit desperate
It’s not about what ADB is « worth » in terms of ability. That’s known.
It’s about leverage. That’s why I Lol’d at the Zadina+two 1sts convo from the other day.
