@Jets de Winnipeg

    It makes sense, one of the reasons I’m okay with a Hellebuyck trade is that paying a 30 year old goalie close to $10 million is a gigantic risk. Makes sense other teams are hesitant

    My gut feeling is that neither of these trades happen before the season begins. Which I’m fine with. Both players are horses and the Jets can ride them to a playoff spot.

    Hellebuyck will not be moved until after teams have signed their UFAs and RFAs. They will not make that kind of add until everything else is in place

    He will also NOT get 9 million.

    hellebyuck Mr i want to win a cup demanding max value. does he think there is a lineup of cup contenders with 9mil cap space?

    When’s the last time a team has won the cup with a $9mil+ goalie? (Legit question)

    Let Helly test the market. Give his agent full rein to talk to other teams.

    Report back and then negotiate with us. Because I doubt $10 mil for a goalie is out there. Once they realize it we can have actual negotiations.

    If a team like NJ is interested at least they have assets to send back.

    They can’t sign extensions until after July 1. It makes sense for teams to wanna just deal with the draft and signing their RFA/UFAs first. My guess is the market for them, especially Scheif, will heat up once teams start to grasp just how bare this UFA group is
