He is an amazing player, but at the same time this is kinda evening out the rivalry bit by bit, yes they still have mcdavo and drai but once they lose depth its game over becsuse the flames have depth, sorta, but Im still sad.

We knew we would need to add to Yamo to get someone to take him without having to retain. Kostin stings, but let's see what can be done with the new cap space.
Kostin is a RFA so we cannot just re-sign him. He is also going to get a salary bump which the team just cannot afford right now. I bet around 1.5m to just under 2m.
It sucks, I really liked Kostin. Let's be honest though, it is a hockey move of a middling player. He is under a .5 PPG player. Not difficult to replace when the time comes.

my dad is an oilers fan and he really liked kostin… he was a little more on the fence with yamomoto just because he didn’t do too well in the playoffs and i’d remember him saying he got a big hit on him in every playoff game… i still think he liked him tho
