Translation : I coached 3 years in the Swiss league, and if I do a quick evaluation of : what I know of the league, what I’ve heard and what I’ve seen on video, I’m sorry, but he’s gonna be one hell of a hockey player. Why? Because the Swiss league is better than the AHL, the guys are older and faster, you got star AHL players, top Euro players, NHLers, listen, it’s a stronger and faster league than the AHL. When you’re a young defenseman who go through people like that, skate at this speed, keeping your head high like that, I’m sorry, but I guarantee you, it’s not a bad pick.

I feel like I’m overcompensating because I hate the way some people reacted to this kid being picked but I am happy with the pick and I think in the future when it’s clear michkov didn’t want to be here and if you weren’t picking michkov, by comparison picking any other forward with pick would be akin to throwing it down the draft. Picking Reinbacher gives you the best D available and he’s RD. So everyone stfu and love this shit. You’re going to anyway in a couple years.

The thing I like with Reinbacher is that he has everything. Every skill you can think of, he has a green checkmark next to it. He also has the hockey sense to know how and when to use those skills. Add to that character, work ethic and team-first mentality. It’s a good bet. From here, it’s all going to be about development.
If the Swiss League is really better than the AHL, would it be better for his development to send him back there?
