I don't understand wtf GMBT is doing here…Duchene had an abysmal entry into the team but has posted 142 points in the last 149 games with the team. A buyout to pay for Duchey to play elsewhere to get this? Seeing great Dmen with this franchise as STH the past 23 years, Schenn is meh…great value brand of Ekholm. This team needs fast, skilled OFFENSE…been frustratingly anemic for years…and the answer with the buyout penalty is a TWF at 32 years old. If this was the O'Reilly of the past…sure, but this is a downgrade. The "Predator Way" of the old Trotz era is back ffs. 🤦
And just think what the Leaf's lost to get O'Rielly and now that,s just wasted again, this team is the laughing stock of the NHL, enjoy year 58 of no Cup.
Same coach, same core, and team is worst. I might be done paying attention until the rebuild. Have not had any confidence in this team for years and this off season has changed nothing so far.
Love schenn but thats a disgusting overpayment glad the leafs didnt make that deal. In terms of ROR, another terrible trade by dubas to bring in a guy who doesnt want to be here that you lose multiple good picks for.
This now brings me to, does michael bunting really want to stay with the leafs? The team is filled with babies with no passion who dont want to be here unless theyre the highest paid guys in the league. If bunting can learn to harness his unhinged-ness and keep playing with that passion, it'd be a typical leafs move to let him walk for 3.5/4m and then be surprised when he completely finds his game elsewhere

I really wanted Schenn to stay….. but Jesus 2.75 for 3 is a GROSS overpay for Luke Schenn… if that was the deal, glad the Leafs didn't hang that anchor around their necks. Shame to see RoR go, but meh, never got the sense he liked it here much, fine if wants to move on.

I'm thinking at this point it might be time to boycott this team. Not just for me for every leaf fan. Because at this point if there going to just run it back what's the point of watching them when we know they'll lose. It's still early but we'll see what happens at the start of next season

Preds aren't trying to compete right now, they are trying to stockpile picks and be a team that other competing teams can use for cap dumps while they let their embarrasment of riches in the AHL mature. Preds prospect pool is insanely talented right now so they are buying time to let those guys develop.
