Senile Lou has buried this team for god knows how many years. Let me guess all NO trade clauses? What’s he going to overpay for debrincat? Let me guess jgp,wahlstrom, and 3 first round picks? lol
Yoda did good accomplishing his goal.
Mayfield is a decent deal. Definitely team friendly. I expect a very long and liberal NTC. Even if he has a shakey 2 year ending, the contract will age well.
Engvall…7 years! Not much more than Beauvillier with longer legs, but he is cheaper than Beau. But…… 7 YEARS!
Varly was surprisingly cheap. Perhaps because he got 2 more years than anyone else was likely to offer. He's had some injury issues, but I'm confident some team would have paid 5 or 6 mil per for 2 years to tandem with a young goalie.
I thought Yodas wish list would have cost $12 mil, but Yoga got it done for 9. It could work out if Varly and Engvall remain moveable for most of their contracts.
Now Yoda signs Wahlstrom and we all hope the youngsters, along with the vets, can really get going. Then next year we get to wonder who Yoda ships out so he can start paying Sorokin.
I have no problem with any of these deals.
Engvall and Mayfield yeah they’re long deals but they’re not that much money. Both of those contracts are easy to move and if you can’t move them buy them out what are you losing on your cap $1 million? Big whoop.

So glad we managed to sign them all. I had hoped for 8×8.5 for Sorokin and it got even cheaper.
I don't love the length of the deals other then Sorokin. Mayfield is essentially getting 3 million a year which is pretty cheap. I'm glad they kept Varly which I'm sure helped got Sorokin to resign. Four years is way too much. Typical Lou deals
Glad we signed all these guys, but there were some gems in free agency we should have tried to get. Not sure if Lou tried or if we had the cap space, but it would have been nice to get a scoring forward.
total fkn F. total fkn lou. keeping the same old band together long term. Yes signing sorokin was a must but long term will age badly. And i told you lou would sign soon to be 36 year old varly for 3-4 years total fk move. and soon to be 30 year old mayfield for 7 years wtf. and the seven years to useless engvall-totally fkn nuts. just face it lou just screwed this team for 8 years. could have at least gone after duchene for one deal stars gave him. lou can't even think outside the box at ways to improve this team or bring in anyone that's not one of his boys. Nor does he have fiscal cap awareness. Just sign them long ter. I feel like throwing up now.. Not surprising but expected. This team as constructed by lou is fkd and will never get the adequate skill and scorers up front to compete in todays nhl.
