  1. I hope they play Xhekaj over Harris. I like how smart Harris is, but he doesn’t bring the same presence or impact as big bad Xhekaj

  2. Josh or Jesse! What do you guys think about a potential trade with the Rangers for the signing rights of Laff?

  3. And now there’s a bigger picture to the Reinbacher selection. Of course. Hughes is the man.

  4. Edmundson is a near cripple – on any other team he would have been bought – getting anything is a bonus. Two years ago a+28 and this year -29 a difference of 57 goals! Another Bonus is that I won't have to hear the abysmal Bryan Mudryk calling him Edmonton 10 times a game.

  5. Best young defensive core in the league. – Does it blossom. Joe in Chicago 🏒

  6. This is another example of not doing the best you can with an asset because of organizational considerations.

  7. So we give first round picks for third line players but other teams give the Habs NOTHING.
No it is not a win win Edmunson is worth MORE than both Dach and Newhook.Sure it is ok to trade him but not eating some of the salary and getting nothing this imo is yet another bad move by management.
So now Hughes is on a roll bumbling move after bumbling move after bumbling move.
Kovacevic joined Matheson as the only non minus players on team aside from the two Laval players so he SHOULD be on the top line with Matheson.Barron is NOT good enough to be in MTL he is a lifetime Laval player especially since we have a few more D men coming in the next two years.Guhle is NOT a top 2 pairing he is at best a 3 or 4 D man but even at that he needs to improve.
Personally I don't see al lth edrama centering around defense because the Habs NEED forwards HQ forwards not Dach's and Newhooks because this forward group will NOT win us any cups.

  8. The defense doesn't need more bodies it needs COACHING because last year the defense played exactly the same way all other defense have played for the past 20 years meanign the coaches have not done anything to shore up the defensive structure.
That's ok though keep praising St.Louis for doing NOTHING because th eTEAM doesn't matter right winning doesn't matter all we need is a well liked coach./…lmao.

  9. Dach Suzuki Caufield

    Monahan Dvorak Anderson

    Slafkovsky Newhook Gallagher

    Harvey Pinard Evans Hoffman

  10. Stop belittling David Reinbacher ! He’s the best Defender in the draft, highly skilled and will be a top pairing for the Habs for many years.

  11. As the rebuild continues … Now watch KH, master chess player and visionary that he is, make more room for the young core by ending other contracts in incremental fashion > Hoffman, Armia, Drouin, Gallagher, Pitlick, Dvorak, Gurianov, Wideman, Tierney, etc. Que la reconstruction continue !!!

  12. I think that the compensation is a little low especially retaining 50 percent salary

  13. I agree, we must create a successfull root sub culture in Laval where players are "happy" when retrograted… When a team can somehow "recreate" this aura in the AHL, you know you are in a Stanley Cup contender franchise for more than a decade… I trust our unique management group

  14. Thank You for the cup run Joel! You deserve another shot for the cup. A great shut down defensemen for a cup run.

  15. We should move another veteran. Keep Savard as he is a great mentor and young guys like him. Sorry but Mathieson is hood .. great but doesn’t fit our timeline plus he is our best trade prospect!!

  16. I'm just happy LA took Dubois, I was kind of concerned Hughes would cave to the French media and take him. This puts the final nail in the casket for LA. Terrible signing for them. Plus they gave up half their team to get him, I don't know who the GM is in LA, but he has lost his marbles, absolutely insane.

Habs seem to be making good moves and building through the draft. It's not necessarily having the best talent on paper that matters, it's having the best team on the ice. I've often wondered why teams don't practice together over the summer, they could greatly benefit from that if they were dedicated, but of course we live in a world that is completely screwed up, so they don't do what works best. The next best thing is to play your drafted players and let the team gel the slow way over 5 years together. Looks like Gorton figured that much out.

  17. Im disappointed, They didnt receive much at all . For a big tall pretty tough guy , and pay half his salary . They should have got at least a second plus.
