I really hope Quick still has it and can perform because we’ll actually need him for 20+ games.
Kind of gamble to bring him in over bringing Halak back but obviously there’s a reason they went this route.

A theory of mine that plays into the Rangers struggles is that other teams are more pumped to play at MSG than the Rangers. Every player who comes here talks about how excited they’ve been to visit MSG. But once they’re here, they fall in line with the rest of the team and ultimately for the Rangers it ho-hum business as usual. Add in their east-west, lack of “toughness” style, and their propensity for slow starts, and it just feels like a recipe for getting run over and pushed around on a regular basis.
I really hope Laviolette can sell these guys on making msg a harder place to play. Lean into his experience coaching other metro teams and being a visitor on a regular basis.
