  1. A Tocchet run training camp should give the Canucks a solid foundation to avoid another disastrous first 10 games.

  2. Is it possible that there is a verbal agreement between Bear and the organization to resign him when he gets closer to being healthy? Likely for cap purposes this may be the case, especially considering Bear liked it in Van and Van liked him (hence why they pursued him while he was in Car)

  3. Donnie: "Pearson expected at training camp despite the hand issues." Translate to the less dramatic / more accurate: "Pearson expected at training camp now that his hand has healed."

  4. Hirose looks great, but he's an unproven rookie at this point, so putting him in the mix and not including Juulsen makes no sense at all.

  5. Wollanin was dangerous last year i dont get why nobody talks about him

  6. Blueger wanted term and the thought was that he was going to get like 2,5*3, so the statement that a lot of teams were after him makes no sense given that Vancouver signed him for 1,9 on a one year contract

    No Juulsen?

  7. At best, BEST, they end up in 3rd place, no way they end up before LA, Vegas or the Oilers. Odds are more likely the 5/6th spot, fighting with Calgary for the 5th spot

  8. That line up doesn't look very impressive does it ?
I never understood the Beauvillier hate coming from Tocchet. The guy was scoring goals and doing well. He stopped briefly when they took him out of the top 6 and then started scoring again on his own. You NEED guys that score and I didnt see much of a defensive liability in his game to warrant the demotion he got.

  9. Hirose looked "right" and he looked calm and cool as Donny said. Def reminds me of tanev too

  10. I really think Pearson goes on the 3rd line if he’s healthy. Also the biggest question mark is bleuger if he’s actually a 3rd line center this a very good forward group and I think can be 3rd place team in the division with healthy demko as well

  11. I wish i had the continued optimisim some canucks fans have. I just cant have high expectations of this team.

  12. Imagine a team where Di Giuseppe makes the lineup before Pearson or Hoglander, lmao. Canucks are pathetic.

  13. Looks like a lineup that will achieve more or less the same results as the last decade….

  14. I’d rather Podkolzin play on the 3rd line. He needs more ice time than that if he’s going to develop into something. DiGiuseppe is a borderline NHL player, so he should be on the 4th.

  15. Management gather a team of losers , ha ha ha. It amazing any sucker pay to watch stupid players

  16. I don't think Hirose is ready, who I do think is ready to play for Vancouver is Wolanin.

  17. I'll be curious to see if McDonough has a chance to play his way into podz' spot early.

  18. We simply cannot rely on Demko to steal our games. It's nice having him back there but the defense really needs to step it up this year.

  19. I mean technically we were like 6-8 games out a spot sooo if the goaltending has a great start then maybe we’ll be a first round exit maybe a second round exit but if Demko comes out like last year we’re hurting lol

  20. Not much faith in the AHL guys making the team. Maybe some of these guys fed up enough to move on. Kraken filling holes with AHL candidates.

  21. Still need a top 2, 2way d man 😅. I wonder if we can trade myers for Cale makar lmao 😂

  22. Depth is good but hope we can move a wing like Garland for a 1B goalie and a 3C if needed

  23. compared to Edm, Seattle, Vegas, LA, we are in a dogfight for wildcard. Hope the centrals weak.

  24. I hope Silov's wins the backup and that they use him alot so Demko doesnt get overworked, idealy like 30/50 kinda split

  25. Going forward, I feel like if a player has a contract, its unlikely we'll see retirements. Hockey is such a punishing game it seems like theres good reason for basically almost any player to be on LTIR indefinitely, and for the player, why give up the money. Is this a modern thing? or in the past were there just not salary cap implications so it was just not discussed?

  26. Hirose’s stocks rising is a plesant thing to see… but it seems like Rathbone has become an after thought for this team, even more so for Jett Woo, who is probably need the very bottom of the depth chart…

  27. 2:17 Should be noted that Mikheyev had a bad knee from the get go (not to mention the other injury during pre-season) so with that surgery out of the way, it'll be interesting to see what his numbers look like. They were decent on ONE KNEE. No question, the forward group is great. Not astonishing, but I think with the right coaching and if the right players keep doing what they're doing, scoring isn't a problem. It comes down to how well the new D-pairings work out, and health of players. Given Hronek only played four games and Hirose played seven games, you might as well say two thirds of this starting D is new. We'll just have to wait and see how it plays out. Can't make too many moves at once or you might never know what could have worked.

6:53 Here's why the Cole term/deal is good: At his age, this is sort of a "show me" year for him. If he can pull his weight and do what he's been brought in to do, maybe he gets another two years. But it's not another Beagle situation.
