Well, of the 2 teams that have the other 2 Hughes brothers, at least New Jersey has a chance to win the Cup in my lifetime, by sheer virtue of the country their home arena is in. Let's face it, you don't join any Canadian team, whether it's the Leafs, Habs or Oilers, if you have Cup aspirations – you go there if you want to live in a civilized country, for sure. But if you just want to make money while winning a championship, you'll go to literally any American team. Obviously, these kids don't have a choice, but you're really lucking out as a hockey player if the choice is Vancouver or New Jersey and you end up in Jersey. Sure, BC is a far superior location in almost every way imaginable, but for making a buck and winning it all, practically any team in the USA would be a more ideal place for a hockey player. Oh well. When the Canucks can't afford guys like Quinn and Brock anymore and they hit UFA status, some US-based team is going to benefit and win something with them on their roster. That's just how it is. I've accepted that as a Canadian hockey fan. No Canadian team will win the Stanley Cup again in my lifetime. At least I got to see a little of the 1993 Habs win. I won't ever see that again. Good for Luke and Jack. In a few years they'll probably have Cup rings and maybe one day Quinn will join them on the Devils or another US team the NHL will allow through "game management" to win a Cup. That's how bad it's gotten. You root for former players of your time to go somewhere else to win, because that's not happening for any Canadian team as long as Gary Bettman is in charge. It's a bad business model if the captive markets who will pay big bucks regardless are winning championships. You need teams in markets where fans are almost completely indifferent or it's their 3rd or 4th favourite sport at best to win Cups, because it generates interest. People want to cheer for a winning team, regardless of the sport. The only reason hockey works in some of these places is because of Wayne Gretzky. Without that 1988 trade, Canada still basically owns hockey. But there's a lot more money in the USA, and there's a sucker born every minute.
That’s what it’s all about right there , such a great moment when a sibling is able to play professionally with his brother , now they just gotta get Quinn😂
