Guelph took him in the CHL import draft. I wonder if he’ll come over.

He gets around the ice pretty well for a big guy. He can shoot the puck and appears to have soft hands.
According to that article he wants to be a power forward and sometimes with these big guys that is the hardest part: they don’t want to use their size.
So that has to be a plus that he seems more than willing to play that type of game and their is a foundation of some solid skills to build upon.
I kind of like this draft for our team. They went about it very differently. They looked at players and seemed to be gambling on their development staff and issues pertaining to size with players.
Alriksson: he’s huge, and being so young, we are gambling once he gets some more time to get used to that size and puts on some muscle, his coordination will make him a far more attractive player.
^well, already you do see a solid foundation of skills including his skating. So, if in fact he does improve his coordination, he could be a really nice find, and that seems like a good bet to make in the 4th round.
Mynio (3rd round) has been criticized. But he weighed in at 165 pounds (actually less I believe) at the recent combine. At almost 6’1”, when he’s finished growing and matured into a 200(-ish) pound body, how much does that added strength effect his skating and his ability to defend (he’s already a strong defender).
^ again, that seems like a good bet to make. 165 pounds in tiny for a defensive d-man even at the WHL level. Expecting him to get to close to 200 pounds is a pretty safe bet to place. Expecting his game to improve with that much room for him to grow physically also seems like a safe bet to make.
