Buschy explique comment Alex DeBrincat est un candidat parfait pour les Red Wings, mais qu’est-ce qui freine cet échange? est-ce Steve Yzerman ? Les Sénateurs d’Ottawa? Alex DeBrincat lui-même ? From Yzerman's press conference, I think he wants to build the Red Wings like the Vegas & Seattle were built. A lot of 20+ goal scorers and a lot of depth. The Debrincat trade may only occur if the Red Wings can get him really cheap. I think another team in the Western Conference will trade for Debrincat.
The 2023 draft class was an extremely deep draft. It was too important to give up those quality assets. I'm glad Yzerman didn't use up the 2 1st round draft picks from the recent draft. We would've never acquired both Axel Sandin Pellikka and Nate Danielson. I see Yzerman comfortable trading either the Boston's 1st or a later 1st, like from 2025 or 2026. Obviously, Yzerman will have to add to one of those picks if he decides to aquire Alex DeBrincat.
well he wants to be here so why not try and land him here?! 🤷♂️🤔👍
Copp plays defense, debrincat doesn’t
Yzerman loves the misdirection. The Zadina conversation is the most honest I think I have ever seen him. I am sure he is working towards Debrincat, but it will be at his price and what he seems is fair. Also, the longer he waits, the lower the value he needs to give up. Regarding "why Andrew Copp?" I think Copp fit a bigger depth need that also filled more roles than just the goal scorer. Hopefully The Cat gets to Detroit, but only Steve knows what is in Steve's head. Even then though….
Copp signing looking horrible so far.
Ottawa doesn’t need draft picks. They traded picks to get a top six winger. Dorion expects to receive a top six winger in return. Dorion should trade him to a rebuilding team like San Jose for a useful player. Then let San Jose trade him for picks. Detroit keeps spouting how great it would be to get a two time 40 goal scorer, and, a Michigan native to boot, yet they think they can acquire him with draft picks and maybe a tier two prospect. Dorion is too smart to fall for this.
Steve isn't going to give up much for Cat, especially when he's made it known he wants to be in Detroit. That's the only hold up here, Dorian is delaying the inevitable, the long he waits the less he gets.
If Debrincat has reached the point he's done in Ottawa, and his plan is to do what he can to be a Red Wing… He's negotiating with an arch rival, and he and Stevie have Dorion bent over a fucking barrel. Pretty fascinating saga unfolding here if you really think about it. Ottawa sends us Debrincat and they drastically lower their playoff odds while raising ours, and we're going to be battling for those last couple of spots for the next 3-5 years. Makes you kind of feel bad for the Senators brass…….(PSYCH!)
🤣🤣😭😭. Alota fussy Wings fans.
Steve and the organization absolutely have to sign this guy.
How long has it been folks?? Hmmm.
He wants be here.
I’m hearing a ton of excuses on why Detroit shouldn’t get cat.
It’s alright folks. Detroit absolutely 💯 positively need this guy. PERIOD
🤣🤣. The people making all the excuses on why we don’t need the guy. 🤦
Holy smokes ppl. Come on. Ok let’s say he don’t reach 40 goals ever again. But consistently has 30 goal seasons.
You absolutely sign this guy. Like I can’t wrap my head around this for the life of me.
The ones who are so dead set against signing him.
And he wants to be here!!! Like this is a no brainer.
Thank you captain obvious . Nobody wants to be the guy that overpays for a long term contract and gives up top picks and or roster players .Yzerman will have to pay top dollar for long term but will not give up much in picks and or roster players . He'll, wait, or walk away .
Yzerman won't trade Detroit's 1st round picks. If he acquired another in trade, maybe. 1st round picks are gold unless they're out of the top ten and the draft for the year isn't projected to be deep.
Debrincat is undersized and I'm not sure that he's built for playoff style hockey, which is the Wings' ultimate goal – to be a contender year after year. His goal scoring ability when paired with the appropriate support can get you to the playoffs, though. He's asking for too much money and term, frankly. Yzerman needs to have money to pay Seider and other younger players as they get out of their entry level deals.
I am a Sens fan, and if I can give you some advice – Don’t wish DeBrincat on your team! He is our Matt Duchene 2.0, a player who dropped tremendously in productivity when he joined the Sens, yet is super arrogant. The games I watched he was a non factor, most certainly not worth 9 million. When he finally leaves I won’t be sad at all.
I think Yzerman is planning on trying to get a 60 goal scorer by staying mediocre until we get first overall or he’s building for the AHL team
I think part of it is from Ottawa's perspective they Know Alex wants to go to Detroit and Dorion is probably trying to use that as leverage but Yzerman isn't biting. He knows he can get him as a UFA next summer.
Naw Sens are in no rush. Worst case for them is they keep a 40 goal scorer all year. Then he walks for nothing & Sens have 8 million in space to buy a UFA next year.
Plus Debrincat better have a great season & playoffs…or teams won't be interested. So that plays better for the Sens too.
This trade is doable, yet the Sens have d prospects and Detroit has d prospects.
It may be the haggling of what SY wants to surrender up in terms of forwards Berggren, or Kasper, or say Lombardi from the farm. With this splurge of UFA forwards I suspect SY had already moved on from ADB or chose to wait at TDL or UFA 2024.
Alex is originally from Michigan so it's a no brainer for him to sign here for the Red Wings.
If Debrincat stays he better produce 30 or 40 or he will shoot himself in the foot. Call his bluff and screw Detroit.
Debrincat signed for Boston 1st rounder, Kubalik and Berggren..
