  1. The future….First off, in order to "move on" and progress, people (including the media) need to get over the fact that the East really is not strong and hasn't been. Majority of the media glorify the East and attempt to put any team in the East as the front runner to the Cup when this simply is your own made up creation. You can quote stats and even throw Boston in the mix for their "accomplishment" however, it would all be a moot point. The fact is, it's a mole hill versus a mountain. Sure, it seems impressive on the outside and makes for a good storyline however…the comparison is nill. There is a reason the race was tighter in the West. Simply put, ANY Team from the second round on in the West could have beaten the top Teams in the East and although I do not like to categorize regular season Wins with Playoff Wins, it cannot be ignored. The East was simply owned and have been owned the last two seasons.
    This is the first step. Realizing the East is not superior anymore. Look to the West as the juggernaut Conference..THEN and ONLY then will you progress with the NHL future
