I liked Maroon as much as the next fan, but if you watched him skate through the neutral zone last year, you watched every other player except the goalie fly right past him.
I like how JBB is looking years ahead in many cases. To me, JBB is looking at trying to find a solid player or two to sign while the cap is only going up $1mill. Next year, it’s almost certainly going to go up by $3-5mil and then this team can find ways to take care of Hagel and/or Stammer. But right now it’s a very good core and the team is getting younger with FAs and players coming up from the AHL. I do not want to see this team turn into the Blackhawks and extend overpaid contracts to guys that are already past their prime.
