   All the best to DeBrincat, fingers crossed he reaches the success he seeks with Detroit. God Knows the Ottawa Rainbow Warriors ain't no place for DeBrincat.

   Haven't listened yet but will assume Wally poopoos the return. Personally think GMPD recovered assets well. And also think any time an RFA 40 goal scorer becomes available you take the swing.

   Lost in all this. One of the main reasons DeBrincat was traded for last year was to create value for the franchise to be sold which it did. DeBrincat was the staging furniture you bring in when selling a house. The Melnyk girls did well and a solid owner is now in place.
   Another thing to consider is DeBrincat's ego. He really thinks he can be a superstar, number one line leader in Detroit and that was never going to happen in Ottawa with the likes of Tkachuk and Stutzle around.

   So Debrincat is leaving a fascinating team to a bottom feeder & soft team!!!!…Well he wanted 8 years x $8.75M and ends up to be a 4 years x $7.75M. Guess who is the winner and the looser in this trade?….Ottawa will be much more well balanced and deeper Team for this upcoming season!

   The return is mediocre at best. Terrible Gm in Dorian. If your giving up a first a round picks you better have an extension in place or don't do the trade. Duchesne and now Debrincat.

   Joesph needs to be traded. You couldn't get much worse than he was last year at damn near 3 million. Makes losing Paul even worse.

   I think there has to be more than this. I can't see the key to the Debrincat trade is a rental for another rental in Kubalik. No one really knows why we waited this long for this deal to happen, but entertain the thought. Tarasenko said he wants to stay with the Rangers. Could it be possible the holdup could be that Dorion wanted Detroit's third round pick instead of the fourth? Why I'm saying this? Could it be possible there is a potential offer sheet to a guy like Alexis Lafreniere at let's say 5M just to get him out of the Rangers, get their top 6 guy who will sign long term, and all Dorion will have to deal with is improving the depth. The Rangers want to bridge Lafreniere in the hope of re-signing Tarasenko. If Dorion throws a wrench in the Rangers plan. That's the ONLY way I see this make sense is a potential offer sheet.

   As far as the trade itself, I completely hate this trade. Unless Dorion makes full use of the first and third or fourth, I hate this deal, and a lot of the reasons you guys mentioned.

   -Traded to a divisional rivals who resigned Debrincat for 4 years. Dorion got back yet another potential rental they could have got for nothing last season, and we aren't sure he re-signs.

   -Late first and fourth in the deal when Ottawa gave up a top 10 pick and a high second to get one year of Debrincat.

   -Kubalik is a middle 6 guy. Like I said, ALL this will only makes sense is if Ottawa offer sheets for Lafreniere and put Lafreniere on the 2nd line, moving Kubalik to the 3rd line, Grieg to 4th, and Kelly is out. If Kubalik is on the 3rd line, I'm moving Joseph out to put in Sokolov. This is how I want to see the lineup with one more addition and 2 subtractions:

   Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson
   Lafreniere-Stutzle-Giroux
   Kubalik-Pinto-Sokolov
   Grieg-Kastellic-MacEwen

   That's my lineup, while staying cap compliant.

   As far as Kleven, i love Kleven, and I love Grieg and Jarvantie. I dont see Jarvantie or Kleven make the roster this season, but next season, i can definitely see both of them on the roster. Both guys will benefit this year in Belleville.

   I think you guys nailed it on not being sold on Joseph and Kelly. Im not sold on them either. If they dump both of them and bring up Sokolov, and Grieg is the winger on the 4th line, the depth improves. It cant get worst than last season.

   33:23 I really like this idea as well. I also think if you get Norris confident and a healthy, closer to 2022 All Star, version of Batherson you could almost go to pairings in your top 9 for better depth down the stretch.

   ??? – Pinto – G

   Plug and play Greig/Kubalik/Joseph or a signing/trade. Konecny next over the boards after Brady would be so fun.

    As soon as Dorion said we could get the same trade value back for DeBrincat last summer I knew the kid was not going to re-sign. Chychrun was the guy who wanted to come here. We should have moved for him or just kept the assets and drafted a player at 7.

    I wanted Ottawa to move DeBrincat at the deadline and fans roasted me for it. Lol if the guy does not want to stay move him to whoever will take him. DeBrincat was a Gaudreau 2.0 from day one. It was a silly move.

    The senators are not a playoff team because of DJ Smith plain and simple definition of insanity is… will they identify it early enough to see the season… I doubt it! They haven't yet

    100% with Yorkie on the importance of a good start. This team cannot go anything underneath .500 in the first 15-20 games. If this happens, changes to personnel HAS to take place.

    Jacob Chychrun eats wrong, and lifts too much….Tom Brady always said lifting weights creates big tight muscles…..easier to strain….no elasticity. Tom Brady and Zdeno Chara ate properly, and look at their careers, longevity, and body types….plant based diets.

    id also go for tatar hed be good for ottawa adds us depth and then id wait till cap goes up and frees our dead cap as well. from there we can sign a top 6 forward

    Another trade is looming, I think. An Ottawa homerun would be a first in 2024, Joseph and Brannie to PHI for Travis Konecny. I would take Tatar over Tarasenko if Konecny is not possible. Sooner or later, I see him in OTT though.

    I think this trade will see better days. I say it’s a down the line standup double. Great show guys. So if Kubelec replaces Debrincat’s goals how does Ottawa lose this trade?
