  1. I can see Yzerman, who drafted DeAngelo, taking a chance on him for a year hoping the team can change his attitude.

  2. Wtf! I thought they were going to trade him to Carolina? Why does Philly get screwed in this process?

  3. Sketchy NHL players have grown in number to the point where they could have their own Rogue All Star Team.

  4. Why are they buying Deangelo out? 2 seasons at 5mil, I'd just eat that to keep trying to trade him right? They are rebuilding they have the time and cap space.

  5. As a Canes fan I don’t want Karlson. Give TD about 1 million a season for 2 years

  6. Reports was waiting for Karlsson to move Cap Friendly reporting the Cap hit is 1. 6 for 2 seasons .and that frees up more Cap space then if he was traded just have another year on the deal

  7. You have to think that teams will wise up and see that adding a player with offensive ability (defensive liability) but a total lack of character is a bad idea. I remember when Philly signed him and how Torts was super supportive. That lasted less than a year. Multiple suspensions in the OHL for violating the leagues harassment and abuse policy (one incident involved a teammate), multiple suspensions in the OHL for abuse of officials, Tampa parted ways with him for behavioral issues (more abuse of officials) and poor defensive ability in 2016. His time with the Yotes lasted less than a year which included him getting suspended for physical assault of a referee. Rangers waived him after more behavioral issues stemming from undisciplined play and fighting with a teammate. He lasted less than a year with the Canes, ditto with the Flyers. His recent suspension in March 2023 for spearing a guy in the privates shows he remains the same little undisciplined Anthony Deangela.

  8. I wouldn't want Karlsson unless I had no offence up front.

  9. It’s strange that DeAngelo is gone. It seemed like Tortorella always had praise for what he was doing in Philly. Obviously some character issues just couldn’t be overlooked. Its worked out for Kane in Edmonton thus far. Zach Kassian also managed to turn his personal life around with the Oilers. Maybe DeAngelo could be a fit there as a reclamation project, if he’s willing to sign a cheap 1 year deal?

  10. Never sign a 2 way deal if you become an NHL player. After your agents and taxes are done youre walking away with at least $282,000

  11. What’s the record for times being bought out? Tony D is up to 2 now.

  12. Wonder if the Canes are closing in on an EK trade and were holding off the last few days on making the TDA trade to see if they could land him.

  13. Moral: Don't sign Tony DeAngelo to more than a year. Perhaps maybe people will finally accept that he's never going to be worth adding to your roster.

  14. The bigger question is can De Angelo break Mike Sillinger's record for # of teams played for?

  15. Wtf was the point of signing DeAngelo then? He'll be a great pick-up for Carolina. What a shock a well run franchise knows how to utilize someone like him

  16. And just when you thought that Mr Anger Management would make a good Broad Street Bully… It's funny that Philly signed him at $5M for 2 years when Carolina had him at $1M. Good move by Briere to get rid of DeAngelo who probably was just a headache for Torts, and feeing up some cap space for a more defensively responsible replacement.

  17. DeAngelo is the weirdest player in the league. He's so good offensively, but is arguably the most unlikeable player personality-wise.

  18. Just a question on two way contracts. Do the players get paid for each game they play if they go up and down? Or do they get paid by the day of up and down. Meal money and travel also, I assume. Just askin'😊.
