Lol never too late to make amends.

  2. Tatsudozo

At least he’s attempting to better himself.

  3. FlyTheW1988

“My family was counting on me to be better than threatening to hire mobsters to kill a police officer for having the audacity to ask if I was drunk after I drove through somebody’s lawn” is probably accurate TBF

  4. UpriverOyster

He may have ended his own bloodlines’ appearance in the NHL

  5. iaalorami

I love how going to a rehab resort has become the default « punishment » for this shit.

  6. Adam_Friedland_TAFS

What’s with the wacky Illuminati symbol at the top?

or is that an AZ thing? or his initials?

  7. mitch-dubz

    “beyond sorry” are choice words

  8. A-Wall1

Really hope he’s genuine, but this to me reads as « I’m sorry I got caught. »

  9. snark_enterprises

I mean, never too late to get help. If he’s sincere, I hope he can get better through the program.

  10. Otterslayer22

So. Did he make the call to Moscow?

  11. Medschoolmonkee

If he’s genuine, I hope the program can truly help him. Just a sad story, as much as we all clown on him.

  12. attiction

idc if he was drunk, or « just angry », dude said racial slurs and threatened to have people killed. he needs the help he’s about to get, and also the consequences he’s dealing with now.

  13. dark12striker

I’ll kill you but I’m sorry fuck this twat

  14. hughjazz45

I heard the NHL was planning the harshest punishment the NHLPA and labor law will allow: playing 82 more games for the Coyotes *snare hit* (entire crowd starts booing me)

  15. madworld2713

This dude needs serious help, threatened to kill an officer and his family. Being drunk doesn’t cause that.

  16. Fleganhimer

Alcohol doesn’t change your opinion. Alcohol let’s you say what you want with less inhibition. I think he made what he thinks of police (and black people for that matter) clear.

Hopefully, he has learned through the immense backlash he’s received, that what he did was wrong and that this apology is coming from a place of genuine remorse. Hard to say for sure, but time will tell.

If he wanted to, he could have fucked off to Russia and finished his career there. The fact that he apologized and still wants to stay is hopefully representative of the fact that he wants to be the kind of person the league will accept (not a terribly high bar, I know) and not just the will to grab some more cash out of the most profitable hockey league.

Sometimes people snap and do things they regret. Sometimes people show their true colors.

  17. Lavs1985

It’s never too late to fix a problem. I also believe in second chances, but those have to be earned. He’s going to have to do A LOT to earn that second chance.

  18. Straight_String3293

« Chatbot, write an apology letter from the perspective of Galchenyuk ».

Actions speak louder. Sure, there is a chance for redemption, but that will come with time and actions

  19. GoStlBlues67

This nerd has his own logo. Hilarious

  20. olive865

    This is fucking hilarious 😂

  21. Shawnaldo7575

So, he threatened the life of a cop and the cops family AND he’s not in prison? Can anyone explain? Are hate speech and death threats not illegal?

  22. vintage_rack_boi

Cringiest part is a fringe player has a dumb ass logo

  23. Spiritual_Fail_7328

He’s got a logo for himself lol

  24. harlequin018

Good start, but how to go about the problem of not being very good at hockey?

  25. JKolodne

Good for him (getting the help he needs…. hopefully), but WAY too little, WAY too late. Screw that guy, he should never play again.

  26. makalder

Off-topic but his AG logo is kinda cool

  27. OnceAndFutureCrappy

Could have used a few more « beyonds » imo.

  28. bigchubbyfatguy

Everyone else gets a second chance . Why not him?

  29. superdalebot

Everyone deserves a path to redemption

  30. booksmctrappin

P.S. – Reject this apology at your own peril; I will end your bloodline.

  31. Salt-Test7577

Sounds like you set the bar pretty high there!

  32. rideronthestorm29

I mean come on guy alcohol doesn’t just magically make you racist

  33. Classic-Path9203

At least, he’s getting help. Most of the people who want to be excused just basically say they just won’t do it again. However, will another team want this player with the stigma that comes with it?

  34. edavEnaB

Ouu redditors are not gonna like this… nobody gets a second chance when they are perfect! Especially if someone did a (gasp) racism!?!??

  35. yosoyboi

I mean, what else do you want the guy to do now? All he can do at this point is apologize and try to become better.

His statement takes responsibility, apologizes for his behaviour, and states how he intends to better himself by attending the player assistance program.

Hopefully he’s able to get the help he needs. Who knows, if he shows actual improvement, he might be presented with an opportunity to continue playing professional hockey,

  36. Falconflyer75

Well if someone owns their mistakes and makes a genuine effort to be better then we shouldn’t try to wreck the attempt (we do that and nobody will ever try to make amends for a screw up)

Guess we’ll see if he proves himself down the road

  37. SaltChildhood7

No. Not too late. Hopefully this is sincere and he gets the help he really needs whether he actually realizes it or not

  38. Survive1014

Ehh. This is a pretty heinous case TBH, but I am willing to give a second chance with extreme verification that behaviors really have changed.

Drugs and alcohol issues make people behave differently than normal.

  39. ikonet

I’m not buying it. The first thing you see is his branded logo. Pathetic.

If you’re truly sorry, write it with your own hand on paper and keep your influencer branding bs out of it.

  40. Semprovictus

bye, don’t let the door hit you on your way out.

shouldn’t be any opportunity for this guy to return.

so obviously, we will see him lacing up next year

  41. tjplager32

I love this community but sometimes you guys love to cast stones when a human makes a mistake. 100% not supporting anything he said or did obviously, but issuing an apology and then taking action (checking into assistance program) to back those words up is a step in the right direction.

I get it, he’s a rich privileged athlete. He has every resource available to him to not drink and drive, threaten people, and use racial slurs. But some of you guys want him stripped, tarred and feathered and forced to walk through town square while we throw tomatoes at him.

  42. Clunt-Baby

« I am deeply ashamed of my recent behavior and I am beyond sorry to everyone I offended and hurt. It was uncalled for, it was horrific and it has ruined this great new opportunity I was given by the coyotes. I am beyond embarrassed and disappointed with myself as I like to consider myself a man of faith as there’s a drive into deep left field by Castellanos, it will be a home run, and that will make it a four nothing ballgame. »

  43. Zestyclose_Estate248

Maybe Boston will pick him up

  44. earlylight36

Isn’t it a little weird that he’s leaving it up to “hope” that he won’t threaten to dismember someone in the future? Whoever wrote this PR piece for him missed that one…

  45. xxWhiteLotus

Amazing Coyotes fans? All 4 of them?

  46. rlb_714

He had Chat GPT write this for sure.

  47. Waffles_Remix

    He designed his own logo?
