As much as I love the guy, he has done very little in the playoffs and taking a deal like this seems selfish if you really want to help win the Leafs a cup.

I think at this point it becomes when is the money too much for Auston Matthews? 14M, 15M, 16M? What the hell is this league coming to? That's almost a quarter of the salary cap. You can't win a Cup with salaries like that…if he can't take less, the Leafs have to consider trading him…NOW!
