That’s fucking perfect. Let’s go
I think this is what we all kinda thought he would get.
about what I expected he would get. Now the question is what’s happening next with the cap?
Now time to ship Murray out
Good stuff. Actually a touch lower than I’d expected. I think this calls for some smile.
BLOODY CALLED IT WELL DONE!!
Is Murray out, and short roster enough to fit this deal in. Or another move needed?
We are still be about 500k over the cap. That is assuming we move Murray out (while retaining nothing) plus only keeping 12 forwards, 7 dman and 2 goalies.
So it seems like there are more moves coming other than Murray.
I expect the defence to get a makeover that hopefully makes us a bit tougher while enabling us the get under the cap.
I think all that needs to happen now is to trade Murray and then send 2 of Holmberg, Gambrell, Lafferty or Robertson down.
A buyout doesn’t make sense unless there’s a bigger move

Happy this is finally sorted. Wish we could’ve worked something out without arbitration as I really believe he’s the reason we finally won a playoff round for the first time in forever.
Another contract year for Sammy, let’s hope he plays out of his mind. Love the guy.
If you were wondering, exactly in between arbitration numbers was 3.65
Good ol (A+B) /2 arbitration never fails
Thought it would be closer to 4 – but its great from the Leafs perspective 🙂
This is almost right down the middle. Sounds like anyone can be an « arbitrator ». Like wtf did they even do besides take out a calculator and then go « eh I’d better make it favor management a smidge »
Can Timmins and Gambrell be sent down avoiding waivers? If so, assuming Murray is moved and Robertson, Timmins and Gambrell are sent down, we’re still $3m over the cap.
Bertuzzi – Matthews – Marner
Knies – Tavares – Nylander
Jarnkrok – Kampf – Lafferty
Domi – Holmberg – Reaves
Rielly – Brodie
McCabe – Klingberg
Giordano – Liljegren
Samsonov
Woll
Trades will defo be on their way soon. Exciting times.
Where the sky is falling he’s going to get closer to 4 people at?
Gigantic shout out to the team being almost exactly one Ryan Reaves over the salary cap. Very cool.
We have to make moves soon right? Signing this would outus over the 10% we are allowed to go over?
Basically exactly the number we all expected, though I was expecting he’d get a 2-year deal.
I think almost everyone thought he’d be getting 3.5
Matt Murray you got a one way trip to ROBIDAS ISLAND
Today we smile. Sun comes tomorrow.
Would have liked to see a 3 year deal in case his numbers go up, but I feel like our players have regressed in regular season ranking, but progressed in playoff ranking. This will likely see Ilya’s numbers regress, but with any kind of decent playoff success, he’s going to be much more expensive to lock down next summer.
The following 2024/25 season is going to be wild in terms of player movement around the league
Is he still RFA?
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; I love Nylander but I cannot see the path that doesn’t include his movement.
It’ll break my heart but the CAP is the CAP and that’s that.
I think Brodie/Murray are gone personally and we’ll likely fill the D out with a couple of FA vets on cheap deals
